About Me

I am a 28 year old married woman, and at the start of this blog, I am classified as morbidly obese.  As many of us have, I have struggled with my weight for most of my life.  I am tired of being so checked out of life, and getting healthy is going to improve my quality of life in every way.  This blog will help me keep a record of my ups and downs and provide extra and much needed accountability for me.  I don’t have a diet plan, per se.  Rather, my plan is to simply eat sensibly, avoid major pitfalls (fried foods, fast food, etc.), and eat smaller portion sizes.  I have overcome my addiction to diet sodas and sodas in general, and I do drink more water (I need to drink even more).  I will also try to incorporate veggies in my “diet” (says the veggie hater).  In the past, I’ve tried and failed following restrictive diets.  And not only are they often not healthy, but I have to do something that I know I can stick with forever.

  1. Just remember dont say no “junk” foods or you will just crave them more, instead eat them in small proportions and fill that “junk food” tooth as i call it!

  2. That’s a good point, Ginger. I’ll probably need to update this About page to note that I’m going to start counting calories. And that will help me to know when I can afford to splurge on tasty treats occasionally. :)

  4. Thanks realcdn! I understand about the time issues. I’ve spent WAY too much time surfing the blogs of late. I go to school and work, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to get into a groove and maybe schedule specific times to blog so that it doesn’t take as much time as it has been. Congrats on your successes so far, too. I’ve only left you a couple of comments, but I do read your blog a lot. WTG and good luck with the rest of your journey. :)

    Passing secrets too, I over ate yesterday, too much chocolate and doritos. I need to stop that. How i wish I could get more veggies in my diet. I was actually craving them after the gym yesterday, so I added a bunch of leftover mixed veggies to my bowl of chicken cacciatore and made a salad with blue cheese and croutons. That’s all fine and dandy but I screwed it up with the aforementioned, later that night (and this morning!)

    You’ve been missing for a couple weeks now, time to come back. Hope all is well.
