Two updates on one month, say it isn’t so!
I must be getting better at this whole update thing! I think it’s important to catelogue the last steps of my weight loss. It helps me understand where I came from and what I did to get here. And maybe it will help someone else.
Today I’m at 148.4! I have officially lost 46 lbs since my start at 194.4. It’s also been about a year since I started now.
Only 8.4 lbs to my goal weight of 140. I’m still doing Atkins, I had to go back to Induction because something in OWL was making me stall. And Canadian Thanksgiving and a day spent with friends with not many food options avail had me gain about two lbs back.
I also learned that a lot of people get a ‘beginner’s luck’ drop in their weight the first time they do low carb, so I don’t have to worry about my weight loss being too rapid. It’s actually at a really nice rate right now. I’m doing a modified version of Induction by stayinng close to 20 net carbs but I have little cheats. I do have whiskey and diet cokes (alcohol is a weight loss slower), I had a mini peanut butter cup a few days ago, I had one chip yesterday (yes I stopped at one!), and other stuff. And I’m still losing. It’s because I’m not letting MYSELF lose control with these little things.
In the past one thing always led to another. Now I eat right but savour the little treats when I have them. I’m still losing, I don’t consider myself being unhealthy because of how well I eat on a regular basis.
So let’s talk about exercise! I suck at it lately. Been doing a little bit of lifting here and there, working out on my ball. I always thought when I lost weight I would be able to touch my toes. I now only have a small pooch left on my tummy and my ribs stick out and still can’t touch them. I realized its all about FLEXIBILITY. So I am going to be self teaching myself some yoga. I’ve always wanted to do it, but it more of a “relaxing” way then a “quickly change poses” for a sweaty work out way. I downloaded a app for my iTouch and it gives a bunch of poses for free, a preset routine and you can set your own, as well as a calendar to mark down what you’ve done.
I’m going to start it today, wish me luck!
