  • Eat sensibly this Thanksgiving Weekend.
  • Walk EVERYWHERE.
  • Increase speed during runs.
  • Blog when feeling sad / wanting to give up.
  • Run up the hill.

  • Try to sleep 7-8 hours STRAIGHT.
  • Clean the apartment whilst burning calories.
  • Start Week 2 for C25K and do ENTIRE run.
  • Do entire plank exercise.
  • No naps. FAIL!

Tired.

November 24th, 2008

Did my morning routine as usual. The workout wasn’t so good today. I felt really tired halfway through, and I didn’t push it as hard as I usually do. It could be a dozen of reasons. Here’s what I came up with:

  1. Didn’t eat enough yesterday.
  2. PMS.
  3. Dehydration.

I weighed in yesterday and I lost more inches - 1″ on my chest (under), 1/2″ on my chest (over), and 1″ on my waist, but no pounds. I’m still stuck at 164 :/ I’ve been hovering over this weight for the past 3 weeks. I guess I need to change up my food choices a bit. Or maybe my muscles need a rest. This trip to the Bay Area will hopefully do me some good.

This morning for breakfast, I had something slightly different. Usually I have some Chobani greek yogurt with a english muffin and 1 egg. This morning I added some bacon, tomato, and avocado. Nomnomnom. Twas yummy.

Giving Up.

I woke up with that feeling… That feeling of “giving up”. I guess it all started yesterday when Mommie Dearest called. She always brings me down. I don’t want to go into the details, but what she said really depressed me. After the call, I headed out to watch Twilight for date night. My depression took over. Let’s add to the fact that I went to American Eagle to try on jeans and none of them fit right. I have skinny legs and a large waist so it’s tough to find jeans that fit right. If I buy a size 12, the waist fits just right, but the legs are too loose. It’s hard. Ended up eating some buncha crunch that the boyfriend bought at the concession stand. Fast forward to this morning. I felt like giving up.

I didn’t.

I woke up and went about my morning as usual. I worked out and ate a nutritious breakfast. I could’ve bought crappy food and drowned my sorrows in a pint of Häagen-Dazs.

But I didn’t.

Boo Subway.

November 21st, 2008

My calves are still hurting, but not as bad as yesterday. I’m going to take a break from running until next week. I need to let those muscles recover. I did do the 30DS and had a 30 minute walk so all is not lost.

Foodwise, however, not so good. On our way home from our walk, my boyfriend suggested we try Subway’s breakfast subs. So I caved and ordered a western omelet sub. Got home, checked the nutritional information and it is just not good. Check it out.

YIKES! Bad, bad, bad. It wasn’t even that good. I should’ve just made one at home. :( Lesson learned…

Slow and Steady.

Did Level 2, Day 4 of the 30DS today. I am getting so good at those walking pushups. You have to see how deep I go with those babies. :) I also did my run today and it was the best run I’ve had EVER. I went 90 seconds STRAIGHT running 3 times. It’s amazing!!! I can’t believe how much stamina I gained. I did however lose momentum towards the end. My calves were burning at that point. I must say, they are looking mighty sexy. :)

I didn’t feel like eating my tuna sandwich today so I decided to have a bacon + apple + cheddar combo as an experiment lunch. I changed my mind last minute and had a BLT instead. I haven’t had chips in awhile and decided to buy some kettle chips (no HFCS ;)) at the liquor store near my apartment. We got the sour cream and onion variety. I never had Kettle brand chips and I must say, they were quite yummy AND crunchy. A little goes a long way. I had - a handful of Kettle chips, a handful of baby carrots, homemade BLT, and bunch of spoonfuls of Italian Style Vegetable soup (Campbell’s Select Harvest). Nomnomnom. Best lunch ever!

So my weight has been steadily in the 160s for the past couple of weeks which I’m happy about. I have been losing 1 lb a week and I know down the line I’m going to plateau at some point. And when that happens I’m going to do everything in my power to keep going. I’m in no rush to lose weight. None at all. I just want to be healthy and climb that mountain… effortlessly.

Poor Calves.

Finished Day 3, Level 2 and went for a run. My calves were hurting, so I had to take it easy. Methinks it was due to all the jumps, particularly that twisty one.

I’m having sleeping issues and it’s frustrating. I always always wake up in the middle of the night. I don’t know what to do about it. :(

Who wears short shorts?

I completed Day 2, Level 2 today. I’ll tell you what is giving me trouble: the twisty jumping cardio exercise (I don’t remember what it’s called), plank jumping jacks, plank squats, knee raises, and that one ab exercise where you hold the weights above your head. I have yet to make it through any plank exercises without taking breaks. I also went out for a run today. I think I’m ready to move to week 2 for C25K. I still can’t make it through the runs without wanting to die, but I want to change things up a bit.

Haven’t written any good things for a while so here it goes: my legs… OMG my legs look so sick and muscular and tone and skinny (but not toothpick skinny). I love my legs :D. I haven’t worn shorts since… 5 years ago maybe? I’m talking SHORT shorts. Not the kind that goes mid thigh. I grew up in Hawaii so shorts were a must to your wardrobe and I wore them all the time and looked good in them too. And now… it’s so possible for me to wear them in the summer.

So I’m participating in The Biggest Loser Challenge in the 3FC 20 Somethings forum. I’m part of the Aqua Team :D. Here’s the banner I made for the team:

So I did Level 2 on the 30DS. OMG! That is a tough workout, but it was fun. I’m scared about hurting my knees so I take it easy on the plank squats and jumping jacks. I like it better than Level 1! I didn’t run today, but I did walk up some very steep hills and stairs for 30 minutes. After my workout, I had breakfast. I tried Chobani’s plain greek yogurt. I HATE plain yogurt. I always need some kind of fruity sweet flavor, but I want to cut down on carbs a little. It tasted pretty good for a plain yogurt. Almost like sour cream. I think I might buy more of this stuff. It was on sale at Whole Foods, 4/$5 :D

Inches vs. Pounds.

So the scale didn’t budge this week. Still at 164 BUT I did lose a lot of inches :D Woooooooo. I lost 1/2″ on my chest, 2″ on my “pooch” area”, and 1″ on my hips so I’m pretty stoked! I really hate the scale. I weigh myself every morning, but I only count Sunday morning weigh-ins officially. Yesterday, I swear I weighed in at 163 and today it’s back to 164. It’s okay… I lost inches and that’s more important to me.

The 20-somethings support group at the 3FC forums are having this Biggest Loser Challenge and I want to join. I sent a PM to the girl running this whole thing and I hope it’s not too late. I kind of signed up late as the challenge begins tomorrow. I think it sounds pretty fun and plus you have to be held accountable and all that jazz. I’m not a “big loser” though when it comes to the poundage so I hope my teammates won’t hate me if I can only lose a pound or less a week. Also, the week in the bay is going to shake things up a bit. Major eating fest when I go there. *sigh*
