Today is day 2 of no fast food at work.  Yesterday was a breeze, and today was going well until M went to get lunch.  The french fries are calling my name!  This would be so much easier if I were at home and could control what was put before my nostrils!  I guess that will make my success all the greater…if it were easy I probably wouldn’t appreciate it and would forget how miserable I am now…Just cause its not easy doesn’t mean its not 100% worth it!  But man oh man, they are tempting:(  Just Say No!

 

Getting up on time April 15, 2010

Monday night I was unable to fall asleep until between 11:30 and midnight and consequently did not get up for my morning exercises:(  Then this morning I kept pushing snooze and at 6am my little darling started to fuss so I panicked hopped out of bed and came to do some Tae Bo in the hopes that I would get a little in before my son woke up for the day.  Thankfully he went back to sleep, but the moral of the story…If you want your day to go accordingly, you must wake up on time!  This goes for other aspects of my diet too.  I woke up at 6am yesterday (my alarm goes off at 5 in the hopes that at 5:15 I will drag myself out of bed) did approximately 35 min of the Wii Fit and went to get ready.  By the time I was all done in the shower and dressed it was 7:45-I am supposed to be at work at 8…so out the door I ran-sans breakfast.  I got to work in the hopes that I could make it to an early lunch - like 11 - and therefore still make my no fast food for breakfast goal I set at the beginning of the week.  Well, I have a HUGE pet peeve, and that is smacking-anything at all, but in this instance it was gum…it is pretty high on the list of most annoying things to smack and after having a coworker smack in my ear while reading something over my shoulder then going back to her desk across the room, my hunger and annoyance got the best of me.  ”Hey M, hungry for breakfast” I ask…Well, I went to Jack and got tacos-it cured two things that were bugging me…her smacking-you see she very well mannered in most other thing, not sure why chewing gums suddenly makes her forget her manners- and my hunger…Needless to say, I think that if I would have got up on time and been able to have breakfast at home I would have been in a more tolerable mood and not given in to weakness.

 

The weeding out begins April 12, 2010

Starting in May I will no longer visit fast food restaurants (does Subway count as fast food?) and in an attempt to be ready for that big change - sadly, it will be a big  change…yick! - I have began the process of eliminating it from my diet.  Starting this week there will be no more fast food for breakfast.  This is to ensure that I will be ready to not have it at all from the first of May on.  I think if you wait till the last minute to start giving something up you are more likely to fail once its a “no no” and since I do NOT want to fail, this is my solution.  Get rid of it slowly and then I will (hopefully) be good to go!

 

Weigh in 4/9/10 April 9, 2010

187.4-thats .2 pounds more then the first of the month.  I’m not thrilled about it, but I’m okay with it because this month is just about getting up in the morning and working out…I haven’t started regulating my food or cutting anything out, so I can’t expect too much.  I also think my friend is coming to visit (TOM) and that I might be retaining some water.  Anyways, while today isn’t the greatest of weigh days, I’m still pleased that I am making my April goal but waking up and getting some exercise in every morning.  Its Friday, and I’m pretty happy about that!

So, my alarm went off as planned and as I got out of bed I saw a light on in the living room…REALLY?  My FIL was up at 5 am?!?  Well, I don’t know about any of you, but I certainly don’t feel comfortable with my fat giggling for all to see…can’t really get in to the zone…so, I guess this means, no working out on Saturdays and no weigh ins.  I guess I will change my weigh days to Fridays…and make me workout week consist of Mon-Fri…anyways, my babe wants to watch Elmo so I better go…blah to this morning:(

My alarm went off at 5 and what did I do?  I hit the snooze button.  By 6 I had decided to reset my alarm for 6:30 so I could go back to sleep and still be able to get up and get ready for work.  After I did that I started thinking.  Is getting a little extra sleep really worth not making your April goal?  NO!  It isn’t!  I hopped out of bed and was able to do 15 minutes of Tae Bo arms.  I didn’t get the full 30 minutes in because I didn’t wake up early enough, however, I am still pretty happy with myself, I got up!  And as I said before, my main April goal is just to get up and do my exercises!

Well anyways, I better go get ready for work.  Its Friday…woo hoo!

 

Good Morning April 1, 2010

Good morning everyone!  Today is officially the first day of forever - thats kind of corny, ins’t it?  Oh well thats me:)  Anyways, I pulled my reluctant self out of bed and did 30 minutes of the Wii fit.  I know its not much, but it’s a good start for me!  My main goal for April is to make it a habit to get out of bed in time to do my exercises.  That darn bed is so deceiving!  When I’m laying in it I feel all cozy and the air out side feels all cold, so I let my deceptive bed pull me deeper in to its folds…Well, its not really cold out, its nice and refreshing…me and that bed are going to have some serious talks here pretty soon!  Okay, anyways, I got up and have a nice positive start to this month.  I don’t have any other goals set, but I am going to try to work on my eating, that way next month my goal will be exercising and calorie counting.

I’m pretty excited about today!  I hope you are too!  Well, I’m off to shower and get ready for work.  Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Getting started March 29, 2010

I started this blog many months ago and have yet to write anything here.  I don’t think that when I started the blog I was fully ready to admit that I have a food problem or that I was ready to do something about it.  Well, I’m ready now.  I am ready to make the changes necessary so that I may live a nice healthy life.  I want to be a good example to my son, I want to be active and I want him to be active.  And so, starting now, I will begin to make good decisions when it comes to food and all things healthy.  Heres to a new beginning!
