There's a difference between deprivation and making choices. Know your limits. I know I can't eat M&Ms. I will never be satisfied with a handful, I have to eat the whole party-sized bag. So I don't eat them. You know what? I don't miss them. I eat other things. If there are any treats you know you have the self-control to eat reasonable portions of, eat those. If you're afraid of all your usual treats, stop eating them. This doesn't mean forever, it just means for a while. I guarantee you, by the time you eat them again, they won't taste as good as you remember. In the meantime, try and find some healthy treats. Deprivation is what someone else keeps you from having. You can choose to forgo something--for a while.
