Well, here I am writing my first of many blog posts. I’m Melly (Melissa) and I’m 31. I’m a wife, mom, massage therapist, a non-smoker (yay), a coffee addict, and I’m overweight!

Have been sitting here watching the election coverage, wanting a snack. Good thing I have some almonds handy.  I have just re-started my weightloss journey on November 1. Back to counting calories as that seems to be the easiest for me. And effortless as well, once you get into the routine of it.

Trying to be creative with my menu so I don’t get bored eating the same stuff over and over like I did last time. So, I’m off to the farmers market tomorrow for some yummy fruits and veggies. I have some good, healthy recipes handy and I’m ready!

I quit smoking almost 6 months ago after smoking since I was 15. Uggh, that’s almost 16 years. I feel GREAT! But I’m unhappy with the weight gain. I was 145 about 6 months ago and am now at 175 with my highest weight since quitting smoking being 180. So, 5 down and many more to go!  I have been walking 6 days a week for the last week and hope to stick to that and add in some cardio as well.
