That’s the plan Stan….
So….I have deleted all my old posts. I originally started this “52 Weeks to Go” blog…uuuhhhhhhh…last year. So, actually my 52 weeks are up, but I weigh MORE now than when I started last year. I started out setting realistic goals, but when I lost MORE than what I had planned to lose I started expecting to lose that much all the time. When I didn’t lose the extra weight, I got discouraged. School started in August, and I kept telling myself I didn’t have time to workout. Since I wasn’t exercising I quit trying to eat right. Long story short…I gained all the weight that I had lost back and then some. Now I’m back. I have a NEW plan that is realistic, and I’m not going to stray from it.
I’m starting a NEW 52 weeks plan. I am changing my ways of “dieting”. I’m NOT going on a diet. I’m going to change the way I think and live. I’m going to change my attitude toward food and exercise and life in general. I’m NOT going to cut my calories to nothing, plan on exercising hours a day everyday, or cut out foods that I love. I am going to eat around 1800 calories per day and exercise about an our a day. If I want or crave a certain food, I will try to make a lower calorie version of it, but if that isn’t possible I will have the food and control my portions. If possible I will work off the extra calories taken in from it. I will NOT sit around and think about losing weight all the time. I will just do what I need to do. I will weigh once a week and set monthly weight-loss goals that are realistic. If I meet the goals or exceed them…then great I will keep doing what I’m doing. If I don’t…that is what the blog is for. I will come back and review my food/exercise and see what I need to change. I will try to blog daily feelings/food/exercise/ etc. But I will at least blog monthly on my struggles/accomplishments/goals/plans/etc.
What’s my plan? Plain and simple…I am going to reduce my calorie intake and increase my activity. I want to lose 2 pounds a week for 52 weeks for a total of 104 pounds (which is simply 1,000 calories reduced per day). I will have to adjust my plan as I lose weight because as I lose weight I will not burn as many calories. I would like to weigh in at 160 on July 6th 2010. This is probably the most realistic and doable plan I have ever had. 2 pounds is so easy and simple…. and even if I mess up one meal, one work out session, or even one day it will not be anything that would mess up my overall goal as long as I don’t let one day drag on to be two days, or a week, or a month, or a year!
I have to start somewhere. This is where it will be. This time next year my life will be different. I will have graduated from college and hopefully have a new career. I would love a new body, new clothes, and a new outlook on life to go with it!
So I am going to focus on 10 pounds a month for a while and then reduce that amount as I lose weight.
I will weigh in on the 6th of every month with a detailed blog posting and pictures…the following are my posting dates and goals
July 6 - Start weight of 264
August 6 - 254 (-10)
September 6 - 244 (-10)
October 6 - 234 (-10)
November 6 - 224 (-10)
December 6 - 214 (-10)
January 6 - 204 (-10)
February 6 - 194 (-10)
March 6 - 188 (-6)
April 6 - 180 (-8)
May 6 - 172 (-8)
June 6 - 165 (-7)
July 6 - 160 (-5)
After that I will set more goals
Wish me luck!
