I’m working with a cleaning analogy. It helps me maintain a much more sensible mental attitude. You see it came to me when my house was a total mess! It needed to a total overhaul. So I made lists for each room of every single thing that needed done. And then it hit me! I wouldn’t dream of trying to do this all at once - that’s impossible. So I stopped and asked myself, why on earth am I trying to do that with my lifestyle? So I’ve made lists for my lifestlye, just life for the rooms of my house. I’ve colour coded them too: red needs a lot of work, orange is in progress and green is a-ok! Looking at this, it’s a very visual demonstration of what I need to work on. My exercise is good and on track. Food is what I need to tackle now! As these improve, my mental attitude will improve too.
