Monday Before T-Day

october-030.JPGWell, at my weekly TOPs weigh-in I was unchanged from last week.  So I’m ok with that.

Thanksgiving will be different for us this year.  This is the first year since my oldest DD Sarah was born that we will not have either daughter with us for the day.  Sarah is staying in NC and having dinner with her BF’s dad in his new house there.  Rachel is going to NYC to spend the weekend with her BF and will be having dinner with his brother and his GF.  We have invited my church choir director, (an Eastment Music school student) to dinner so it will just be the three of us.

I have always missed not having a large family at holidays.  My mother was an only child and my father had only one brother.  We would go to my father’s mother’s house for dinner and when my Great Grandfather was still alive we always got a silver dollar under our plates. (I wish I still had those!).  At that time they had a “maid” that served dinner and I was fascintaed by all of that.

So it will be a quiet Thanksgiving for me.  I plan to relax and read - hopefully do some walking (but not in the woods as hunting season is underway here.)

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
