So much for minimizing

Well, I went into the basement thinking I would just bring up the outdoor decorations…of course I had to bring up all 5 boxes and not only is the outside decorated, but inside is on its way too.  Just got going and couldn’t stop.  It did keep me away from food…until I went to the kitchen to make fruitcakes.  I wasn’t going to do that this year either, but my SIL asked if I was making thme this year and then threatened not to let us stay at her house in Jan. unless i made them.  Yes, as far as fruit cakes go - they’re awfully good, and i just had to taste the batter.

I have made it to the fitness center two morinings in a row so far.  Did my strength training today including lunges and squats and I can feel it in my legs already.  Had rehersal last night, and again tonite, and this will also keep me out of the kitchen.  I just read in Newsweek about how good reservatrol is for you and keeping you young…therefore I have just poured myself a nice glass of Merlot.  Thanks newsweek!

  1. CONGRATS on the play — I love that play. I have seen it on Broadway and then here in Vancouver. I took my mom and I thought she was going to split laughing over the walker dance.
And speaking of laughing - Robin Williams was BRILLIANT!! ton of fun. more on my blog.
Glad to see you doing so well.

  2. Hi Lynn, I echo your sentiments about having a minimalist Christmas. To that end, we ended up having two Christmas trees this year (ha) one for the family room and one for the living room. That was my daughters’ doing, not me, but I’m enjoying it. Good for you on your part in the play and your plans for winter! I’m still plugging away at my walking, and did some pilates on Wednesday, and boy, I can feel it too…..Take Care, RubyJean xoxoxoxox

  3. Squats and plunges are apparently really good for one. I kinda hate them but used to go through the motions. :)

Your decorations and specially the fruitcake sounds too good.

    Love and cheers,
