Monday Monday
I’m washing down my protein and peanut butter shake (lunch)…was great all week with the 2 shakes for breakfast and lunch, then the weekend challenges did me in. Our friends invited us for potato pancakes and black walnut syrup (they make it from their own black walnut trees). And Sunday we went to another friend’s for dinner and though it was healthy (steak and asparagus) and shrimp cocktail to start, I probably ate too darn much.
On the plus side I just did my 5-mile walk circuit. I came home to a stramge and a little upsetting phone message. Twenty five years ago I did some air monitoring for asbestos for a local boiler maker shop in town. I was home with a new baby and was called by the Co. to do some part time work for them. Well, this call is from their lawyer wanting to ask me some questions about this work I did for them. This has always been a nightmare lurking in the back of my mind…with the nasty reputation of asbestos I have imaginged being named in a law suit over my involvement. I always managed to push this recurring thought back with the thought that that was 25 years ago and heck they probably couldn’t find me anyway, since I’ve moved several times since then..Well, looks like they’ve found me. Now I’ll have to wait ’till they call back to see what’s up. Hopefully nothing!
Now I’m off to the back yard to do some raking..
Photo is from yesterday when my DH and I went on his bike (the motored kind) down to Silver Lake. It was a glorious day!

Lovely photo from your biking excursion! I’m definitely hoping to see more of your photography talent showcased now that you’ve retired! As for the decades-old asbestos thing…isn’t there a statute of limitations on this stuff? Don’t stress yourself worrying over it; I can’t imagine that they could be trying to include you in any kind of legal action. Possibly just looking for info from you as a witness or to verify reports or something…
Glorious days are the best kind!
I agree, what a lovely photograph. I hope to see more, too. Do you publish your photos on a website? Some of them are really great for showcasing your work. I have a colleague that has a gift for framing beautiful shots, and he has his work on just such a website. I also think that if a lawyer is contacting you, it’s probably to be a witness for your findings in the monitoring.
Try not to worry too much!
Love, Hugs, Ruby
Lovely photo! and do let me know if you plan a website of them.
I love love love a ride on a motorbike on a good day! I am so happy that you enjoyed yours.
