Last Day
Well it’s been quite a week. Lunch out with my collegues on Tuesday, along with a bouquet of flowers. Cake and punch on Wednesday (so much cake I took one home and put it in the freezer for a party sometime this summer). Of course I have also been eating the rest of the left-over cake for dessert at night. Any diet plans have been shot to hell as a result. This is my official last day. They are making up my retirement “badge” as I write so that I can come back and use the fitness center. Thing is, it’s 27 miles from home so I might be better off joining the local YMCA.
I’m way more happy than sad at this point. I’ll miss a few people, but not horribly. Friendships at work are strange that way. Once I’m really gone, I’ll fade from these people’s lives pretty quickly. I have one friend who has some previous foster kids who now live in my town and she will be coming to watch their baseball games….so I probably will maintain that friendship.
Len and I plan to go out to dinner and movie tonight. Monday morning I begin shapiing my new life. I must get back on-track too.

Congratulations on your last day! Hope it’s a good one (even with all the #@*#&@^ snow).
Happy, happy retirement!
Wowee, Lyn!
Congratulations - I’m happy that you’re happy!
May your dinner with Len be delicious and I hope you’ll toast to the bright future.
ps Lyn, I just started a new book - Anne Lamott, “Grace (Eventually) Thoughts on Faith” So far I’m liking it very much.
Whoopee!!!!!!!!!! Oh, girl, what a milestone, eh? I know what you’re saying about work friends. They pretty much fit into the work milieu but not the personal one. Oh, I am sooo delighted for you! Have a wonderful retirement!!!!!
Congratulations! How lovely for you! A new life - new interests, new curiosities, new discoveries
It’s wonderful.
I am so excited for you Ms. Lyn!
Once the dust settles it’ll be amazing what new things you’ll find
