Sicko
I’ve been smote (is that a word?) with the flu. This is the third day. Days 1 and 2 are a blurr of hazy feverish dreams, and achey achey limbs. Coincidentally, I just finished reading a book about the flu epidemic of 1918 called “The Last Town on Earth”, by Thomas Mullen. It is about a lumber town out in the boonies of Oregon that decides to quarentine itself against the flu by setting up road blocks and guard stations. It’s a fictional account, but has a lot of fact-based stuff about that horrible flu. People died after being infected for only 48 hours and it was a gruesome death. The author of the book is coming to our county in a couple of weeks so I may go and hear him speak.
In any case, I’m bummed as I can not go to see the last show of my DD’s play tonight. Her BF is here (after a harrowing 10 hour drive through the rain, sleet and snow last night. He drove my sister-in-law as well and she was a nervous wreck when they got here at 2 am.). The only up-side of the flu is not eating. My Monday weigh-in (if I make it) should be good. Right now I have no voice at all and if I try to talk I sound like a fog horn.

Hope you feel better soon. You sound very unwell. Have lots of hot liquid.
Coincidentally I was thinking of Spanish Flu a few days earlier. There was an episode in Numb3r where they talked about that. I am planning to look it up. It sounded extremely scary.
Lots of love and get well soon,
iniya
Hope your flu is gone and you get to enjoy the week-end!
