Back from gator-land

dsc_0145.JPGHow’d you like to meet this creature on a warm dark night?  Yes, I’m back in the frozen tundra of NYS.  We had a harrowing drive during our last 100 miles into PA and NY - lots of blowing snow and white outs.  But we made it.  My little Saturn wagon now has 190,000 miles to it’s credit.  Good car.

It was a wonderful trip.  Our condo was right on the beach and the weather cooperated by being 10 degrees warmer than usual for most of our time there.  We were just south of Daytona in Daytona Shores and had a roomy one-bedroom with a full kitchen.  The pool was heated and the sun was out most of the time.  The best outing we did was a trip to the St. John’s River and Blue Springs to see the manatees.  We took a great boat tour of the river and I got some amazing photos which I will share later.  Lots of birds and gators and turtles.  We spent lots of time with our friends, eating (of course) and just hanging.  I did gain about 5 pounds on top of my XMAS gain so I’m way behind in the weight loss program so far this year.  Oh well.  I really enjoyed myself so there!
