Back home
I’m back - at home and now at work. Got on the scales at home this am and it wasn’t pretty. Up about 5 pounds since mid December. So, I’m bringing in soup for lunch along with a mall salad and a few crackers. This will be lunch today and tomorrow. Also, back to the gym this afternoon. The drive home was uneventful and we stopped to have dinner with a friend on the way. Indian food - I love it - has curried lamb - my last splurge before getting back on track.
It’s in the teens (F) here so it’s been a wakeup to winter too. Our house was 39 degrees when we got home last night as my DH had turned the heat off before we left. I did not know he did this - my poor plants and those shivering cats! I tild him that for our 2 weeks away at the end of Jasn. we are NOT turnig the heat all the way off. Jeeze!

Omigosh! That’s one cold house! The temperature here this morning was 3 degrees. That’s Farenheit. Three. Wind chill of - 15. SO not optimum, although I’m grateful it wasn’t like this last Friday (moving day). It was in the 40’s then, and is supposed to be getting back up to the 40’s on Sunday - maybe even higher than that next week. Weird weather.
Don’t discount the possibility that those five pounds could be water weight - and maybe even extra salt intake? I betcha it’s not actual weight.
Have a good week, and Happy New Year to you, Lyn! I’m glad you’re home safe from your travels.

brrrr I’m cold for you!
You’re not supposed to turn heat completely off in winter, you’ll risk freezing the pipes (and at 39 you weren’t too far!). That’s a LOT more expensive than heating the house to say 50 degrees.
Glad you’re back on track. I’ve been having a lot of soup too.
39!!! Poor kitties!!! Steal all his covers tonight, mean man!!
Pfewww, that’s chilly! Agree with soclose, steal his covers tonight!
Agree with ella, the weight could be water or salt - you’ll lose it quickly, I think.
Agree with you and round….I’m having soup for lunch, too.
Brrrr, too damn cold for me. I freeze if it gets colder than 70 degrees anymore.
I need woolies and sock to bed then.
Poor kitties.
I agree with the water weight, I always put on when I am away from home, throws your system off and puts your body into survival mode
