Looks like the North Pole Here
Yup. We’re getting slammed with good old Lake-Effect snow. So far about 6 inches with up to 1 foot predicted by the end of today. I did manage to get to work - now if I can just get home again. My weekly TOPs weigh-in was cancelled last night, so I weighed at the fitness center and am down a bit. I had three days w/o exercise over the weekend, but hit the gym yesterday for an hour.
Weekend went too darned fast for me. Volunteered at the Community Darkroom Sat am, finished watching “The Sopranos” Sat nite…(I’ll miss Tony), and had the church service of Advent Lessons and Carols on Sunday. Unfortuately the weather was horrible, so we did not have many who attended. We did have a nice-sized choir, however, and my DD Rachel did end up singing with us. My DH really twisted her arm to do this and I appreciated it.
Other than that our home is still a mass of phone books. Len and Rachel are still delivering togeher and have’t killed each other yet. He is giving all of the proceeds to Rachel so she knows to be grateful.

Congrats on being down this week.
All that snow must be pretty. I like to see snow only when I don’t have to drive in it or be out running errands in it. For weekends or vacations its nice.
Sounds like you had a busy weekend, but you must have managed to eat well during all of it.
Nice that the kiddo & dad have a *project* to do together, eh? We had snow/sleet/icy rain yesterday, which made for an unpleasant commute into work, but today is clear so far. We’ll see where it goes, as they have predicted more nastiness. I can’t say that I enjoy this, no matter how pretty it is on a freaking Christmas card!
Know what you mean about DD “knowing” to be nice to dad…how famiiliar that sounds! No doubt to ella, too.
Yeah, also had a good friend from my Michigan days from the age of 13. Met in seventh grade, stayed friends right until I left for Africa for good. I missed her more than anyone, even my dad (I thought) and wrote gazillions of letters to her over the years and sent pictures. I was so excited to see her again when I got back here. It took me years to understand that she had moved on years before, and I had always needed her all along much more than she needed me. She’ll call once a year, for the last 10 years at least, when she’s ready to have a place to bring her family to stay near New York City at Easter. Other than that, nada. For a long time I felt hurt about that one, too.
….and I meant to say congrats on keeping the weight down! And woohoo I’d love all that snow! Hope you make a beautiful snowman.
