Tuesday before T-Day

october-030.JPGI managed to stay the same weight-wise at my TOPs weigh-in this week.  OK by me.  I know at some point last week I was up acouple of pounds so getting serious helped.

Thanksgiving Day dinner will be small for us this year.  For the first time since our oldest DD, Sarah, was born (26 years ago) we will not have either DD home for dinner.  Sarah is in NC having dinner with her BF’s father in his new house there and Rachel is going to NYC to spend the weekend with her BF and his brother.

This is the time of year when I miss not having a large family.  My mother was n only child and my father had one brother.  Same is true on my DH’s side.  When I was growing up we would go to my Grandmother’s house and when my Great Grandfater was still alive he would put silver dollars under each of our plates. (Wish I still had those!).

Thanksgiving also has a special place in my heart as that is when my DH and I decided to get engaged….now 30 years ago!!  We were just the two of us that year and living in his small upstairs apartment in Bath, NY and we woke up that morning and agreed that we should get married.  The wedding was the following August.

So Happy Turkey Day to all of my fellow 3fatchick blogging friends.

  1. Lyn, what a nice Thanksgiving memory to have your engagement connected to it! Maybe if it’s just the 2 of you it could be a spicy romantic Thanksgiving. A kind of “clothing-optional” Thanksgiving! Just be careful w the hot gravy… ;-)

  2. Happy Thanksgiving to you to, Lyn!
Maybe you should do something romantic, seeing as you have the house to yourselves?
    All good things….RubyJean
