I like Wednesdays

camilias.jpgI know - most people like Fridays or Saturdays, or even Sundays best.  But for some odd reason I always seem to be in a good mood on Wednesdays.  This Wednesday is sunny and warm (for Rochester), and I have my DD’s car today which has a cd player so I sang Beatles music all the way into work at the top of my lungs.  What great therapy!  My DD is selling her car and I have to take it over to a used car dealer who called last night wanting to see it.  I hope I don’t have to negotiate too much.  My DH gave me a figure we will not go below but I need to start out higher.  I never feel comfortable bickering over prices.  the reson I get to do this is that my DH is substitute teachiing and my DD is home sleeping after working last night.

I was good all day yesterday and even did the upper body strengthening, but then went to a meeting of our church womens’ group and there were wonderful iced spice bars with raisons.  I had 3 (woops).  Went over my WW points by aboput 6.  We were getting ready for a rummage sale and I got to pre-shop and got some great goodies.  A Tupperware steamer (never used with recipe cards), and kitchen chopper, and warm navy vest, new queen sized sheets (burgundy), and an electic Christmas candle to add to my collection for our windows in Dec.  I love to shop at second hand stores and church sales.  You find the greatest suff there sometimes.

Well back to the grind.  But it’s Wednesday so that’s ok.

  1. That’s the kind of shopping I like too. Congrats on your bargains. I must like Wed.s too; I picked a Wed. to be induced when my dau. was born. I’ve been to Fairport—right near your town and I still have one cousin in Rochester, if you’re in the NY one.

  2. LOL I have never thought of happy Wednesday! Good luck with the bargining. - dritta

  3. Geez, lynard, you must be my kindrid spirit! I like Wednesdays better than Thursdays through Saturdays! I also love shopping at tag sales and rummage sales, singing at the top of my lungs in the car is one of my all time faves….
Don’t be too hard on yourself about those points! Maybe you can exercise them off? Take care…RubyJean

  4. RubyJean: Thanks for the kindred spirit commnet. I alsways liked that term…it reminds me of Anne of Green Gables. Yes, I do plan to go out and hit the pavement tonight…or maybe up to the HS track. The car barginning never got off the ground. They said that I’d be better off selling it through the newpaper as they could only offer about $900 less than what we are asking. So sort of a wasted lunch hour. Soclose: Yes i am in “Rachacha”, (Rochester) NY. Actually work in ROC but live to the west in LeRoy…birthplace of JELLO.

  5. Lyn….I just looked it up - your book club is ahead of me. The book I’m thinking of is “A Thousand Splendid Suns” (Khalid Hosseini). I listened to an interview with him on NPR awhile back, and he said he wrote the book from the point of view of a woman/women. I am intrigued. I loved Anne of Green Gables - book and also the mini-series (the one with Megan Follows as Anne). My mom and I loved it so much I had to help her hunt it down to buy it. I’d look at your car with an eye to buy if I was nearby!
