A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Thyme,

I thought I would offer up my basic statistics to the Blog Gods, to let people get a better feel for what my life is beyond endless updates about my weight going down (and hopefully not up :D), whining about the torment of giving up favourite foods and the torture that is known as ‘regular exercise’.

I’m 24, female (surprise surprise) and I live in the UK, in a beautiful village out in the countryside. I have red hair, grey eyes and I find myself fortunate to be tall - ringing in at 5′10″. As of last time I weighed myself before posting this I was 238lb, which is quite simply, undeniably too much!

I, to my eternal embarrassment, currently live at my parents home (it’s not that I’m embarrassed by them, it’s the lack of self sufficiency on my part that’s causing this niggling sense of shame). Part of the problem, I suspect, is I still consider myself a recent graduate (roughly this time last year - who am I kidding? That’s not recent!). But I have a cunning plan to fix this problem :D. Come October I’m going back to uni to do a postgrad degree.

With the employment market as it is you’d think I would be pick a Masters which would increase my employability wouldn’t you? Well I laugh in the face of sensible, well thought out ideas

Mwahahahahaha!

Silly me. After first doing zoology (not a lot of call for zoology graduates, let me tell you!) I’ve decided to do a Masters in, wait for it… … .. Anthropological Evolution. Yup. Great idea Thyme.

By nature I’m a fairly sedentary person. I love to read, I honestly don’t believe I spend fewer than 2 hours reading a day, and usually more. My guilty pleasure is sci-fi and fantasy. I always try to read classics, but they never quite capture my imagination the way modern trashy literature does (it’s very embarrassing!). I love to make jewellery and I’ve been teaching myself to sew (bags for the most hand - a girl can never have enough accessories :D). You may see a theme here… sadly I can’t say that I have any form of exercise, vigerous or otherwise, as a hobby… this is probably one of the contributing factors to my weight problems.

Other than my weight I would say I’m very happy with myself. However, my weight is very my on my mind so I’ve decided to fix this.

Wish me luck!
