Two weeks in (sunny?) Ol’ Wales
So I finally got to meet with the personal trainer I mentioned earlier, he was very helpful so I’ll be seeing him once a week until I head off to Uni to do my postgrad. Only annoying thing is I won’t see him for another fortnight as on Monday I’m to go off on holiday to Wales for two weeks. I’m going with my sister who wants to get her oil painting skills up to scratch (she’s a sculptor at heart) so I’m hopefully going to be improving my technique with watercolour landscapes. This should involve long walks up hills and down dales to find ‘just the right spot’.

The place in Wales is lovely, the house is on a cliff halfway up a hill over looking the sea and the village is nestled at the bottom surrounded on three sides by hills. With the exception of the beach, which is course of only avaliable when the tide is out, there is not a jot of flat ground to be found. Obviously this sounds great from a fitness point of view but I *hate* hills - they’re Mother Nature’s cruel joke. Fortunately the exercises I were given today are doable almost anywhere, the hills are to be considered an added bonus (eek!).
I am a little perturbed by the lack of facilities there. We’re actually borrowing a single basment room thats part of a holiday house - I say borrowing as we’re not having to pay to stay as it’s my Uncles. However, although it possesses a sink and bathroom that is the extent of the facilities. No shower, no cooking appliances and no fridge or freezer. It’s going to be rather like camping indoors…. We may be able to cadge a shower off some of the tenants in the other parts of the holiday house, however this depends if we’re lucky or not. For a large portion of the summer our various cousins stay there, so it’ll be easy enough to look pitiful and umm… fragrant. If we don’t know the tenants we may have to resort to washing in the sea.
No shower and exercise do not mix!
