well... don't give up for sure.
maybe you should talk to yourself like you would if YOU were a diet and exercise counselor for someone else. it's okay to be a lil bit crazy and say to yourself... "c'mon, i KNOW you can do this..." congratulate yourself when you get it right, think of what your coach would tell you if you were doing great, and what your coach would tell you if you were doing poorly.

you are doing this for a reason, and you really DO want it, otherwise why would you torture yourself walking and denying yourself things that you want?

i am probably way older than you are, and my motivation comes from taking care of my dad for a few years. he is not fat, but some of the elderly people i saw were overweight and they couldn't walk at a certain point, and someone else had to lift them out of bed, etc. i don't want to be old and lifted out of my bed by one of those crane things!
i don't want my kids to not be able to help me when i'm old (er) because i'm too fat for them to help me stand up and get dressed.

i think you can do this. i think you know all the answers and i think you know what to do. there is something inside you that wants this - you have that desire to succeed. find what works FOR you and stick with it. it's not the same for any 2 people. hang in there.. we can do it!!!

Everyone slips up. Everyone binges once in a while. Am I right in thinking the choices you made for your binge are much healthier than they would have been before, though? If so, that's progress, and something you should be proud of. You feel much better than you did...okay, but what's going to happen if you give up now? You're going to feel just as awful as before, eventually. It's a constant battle. Logically, there's nothing to do but get back on the horse and forgive yourself, move past it. One bad day does not a failure make. *hugs* You can do it!

I too have days like that. I think you did ok! I ate 6 servings of cheese last night for the same reason. Go exercise and don't beat yourself up.

I don't know why that happens! But I have days like that, too! It usually happens right when I'm ovulating. I just eat and eat and eat! I wouldn't consider that a binge. You didn't eat and eat without stopping. You kept taking breaks and STILL felt hungry. So, I think you might have just been having a hungry day. Maybe next time you feel hungry like that, chug a few glasses of water and then eat. That way, you will know if it is thirst or hunger. Either way, I think you're doing a great job and in the end, it doesn't matter what your reason is as long as it's what is important to YOU.

That sucks, I've experienced the same thing before myself. You do well for awhile, start to feel better, and then your body starts to cave from all the changes. It's hard to get through. Maybe go easier on the exercise for a week or two...or better, if your local leisure pool has aquafit classes, see if you can do those. I just went to my irst one today and it was great. No joint pain, no icky sweating, and I felt like I could go for hours, and it's great cardiovascular activity. Even if they don't have aquafit, you don't need an instructor to do the same exercises. Try looking up pool exercises online.

At any rate, I hope you feel much better soon!

I think it's great that you're updating your blog regularly. It definately helps in keeping focus on your goals. That is something to be proud of :)

What works for me when it comes to finding motivation to exercise is simply just doing it. I don't negotiate with myself or even give myself a chance to talk myself out of it. I simply put on my workout clothes and shoes and go.

Actually it also helps breaking down my workout sessions throughout the day (if you have the time that is) like 10 minutes 3 x a day.

Are you getting enough fluids? When muscles grow (since you're exercing regularly) they tend to suck water like a sponge, hence the water retention that is why it's so critical to drink plenty of water.

You're doing spectucular! Keep up the good work :)

I'd say you're retaining water. With the heat and then the soreness, your body is retaining more water than normal to compensate. Try taking it easy and walking when it's cooler, stretching before and after, and drinking LOTS of water! You're going to need even more than what you normally drink to flush your system. Just don't give up. There WILL be weeks where you do not see a loss. Ever watched 'The Biggest Loser'? Yeah, imagine how those folks felt when they had little to no loss and they were getting their BUTTS KICKED! Just know that's how it will be sometimes and don't give up. :)

I know how you feel. I have stayed on program 100%. For several weeks and never lost a pound.
Plus side I never gained anything either. My clothes fit better so I must be doing something right
And eventually the scales will catch up. So continue to keep up the good work, your worth it!!
