What I Want
What I Want…”
What I want for me
To be the healthiest I can be
To learn to run and play
for the entire day,
To run a painted mile,
and do it as I smile,
To learn to walk the stairs,
without a winded care!
I want to walk across the street
and catch a whistle as I meet
people as they leer
“Has she lost weight?”-the words I hear!
To be proud of who I am,
and not to give a damn,
about how fat I feel or
“when is my next meal?”
Just to feel young and alive,
and for many years survive,
Happy, healthy, and free,
And loving to be me!
