Weekend recap

Well, where to begin. We had a good weekend. I spent Friday and Saturday night with BF. That is the last time we will be spending both nights at his house for awhile since it will be back to the old grindstone with the kids going back to school tomorrow and I will be starting my student teaching soon. Friday we went to town and rented movies… Death Race, which was good but a little too violent for my taste and Surfer Dude which was just stupid. I like Matthew McConaughey (as an actor, as a person…I think he’s a littel slimy. Sorry! That’s just my opinion!) and I think that movie could have been done a lot better. Yesterday I went shopping with Sis#3 at the Dollar Tree, and then we went to Jerry’s and ate, then to Peebles. The food at Jerry’s was really good as usual. I had the smothered chicken with cottage cheese and a salad and it was divine! I love the Dollar tree becasue everything is a $1 (I got some workout DVD’s for $1 each so I am hoping that they are at least tolerable, so I can do them) and my first visit to Peebles was good. I loved it and I got my new great neice (That makes me sound old!) a baby heirloom Bible. It is white lace and is made so that she can carry down the aisle when she is all grown up and married. Very Sweet. Then we went to the hospital, right about the time they were releasing Neice19 & the baby. I got to dress the baby in her “Snowsuit”- it was a really light cover-up snowsuit, and helped her grandpa snap her in the car seat. Then I went back to BF’s where we picked up the kids from his Mom (She had taken them to get new shoes) and we went and rented more movies. We rented 10000 BC, which was good and Sex and the City which was good, even though I have NEVER seen an episode of the TV series. LOVE that there are shows on TV that will now show a Man’s penis on screen. Remember when we were growing up it was only women who were shown with their clothes off and were being oversexualized. Glad to see that they are showing the wienies now too. LOL!
Today went by fast. I went to the grocery store and bought alot of fresh veggies and alot of crap, but the crap is mosty the kids stuff. Fudge Rounds (which I might eat occasionally), poptarts (that I never eat) fruit snacks (never eat), etc. Its not really stuff that will tempt me off the wagon. I am trying to get my kids to eat better too. DS17 takes his lunch to school everyday with a soda…so I cut his soda down to 3 times a week, and the other 2 days he takes water. DS10 will be DS11 on Friday and after some internet research we found out that he is about 20 pounds overweight. So I have been trying to get him to eat less, and exercise more. Punishments are no longer having to sit on the couch for 11 minutes or in the corner, but now he gets to run laps around the house and do planks. He can’t do a push up correctly. He actually likes the new consequences and if i put him in the corner he will ask “Can’t I do a plank?” I read on the internet that you should not put a child on a diet, but make sure they eat good stuff, exercise and have them grow into their weight. That is what I am doing with DS10. Hope it works.
Small steps, big rewards. One step at a time.
I am looking to buy a food processor. I want to be able to make more food and get my kids off the overprocessed stuff like chicken nuggets. I could easily make them from scratch and they would be healthier and less fattening then the kind you buy. I want a food processor/ blender combo, but they are about $80. I am thinking of charging it, but I charged a good chunk of Christmas so I hate to charge anything else right now.
Weight wise, it went up a little. We ate out a few times and my choices weren’t the best, but I have 5 days to get it right so I will make sure the rest of the week is OP, including exercise and the weight will come down. Getting back into routine will help withthe weight loss.
I have a headache so I am off to bed.

Good luck this week!

I see a lot of people doing Craigslist or Freecycle for items they want but can’t quite afford - you might find a food processor there. I haven’t tried it yet but have a bunch of junk sitting around collecting dust, so I might get to the giving side of it later this year.
Sounds like you’re set for a good week

I am totally into Freecycle. I am more of a poster than a receiver, but I think it’s such a great way to find things that are perfectly useful!
