A moment of true Christmas spirit

Okay, I know that Christmas is over, but I had to share the experience I had tonight.

DS5 and I decided to go out and look at Christmas lights.  There is a house that does the lights that ”Dance”  to music out in the country, so we decided to go look at those.  To our delight there are 2 other houses on the road doing it as well so we spent what felt like a great deal of time, driving slowly, and stopping to watch and listen to the music.  We were getting ready to leave and were doing our final drive by when the song changed to an instrumental version of “Silent Night.”  Ds5 said “Mommy this is the baby Jesus song!  I love this song!” and we continued to watch the lights dance before us.  I felt my heart fill with christmas spirit…I hadn’t felt it all year with all the Crap that has been going on.  My heart suddenly felt like it was going to burst, (Think the Grinch where his heart grew 3 sizes), tears came to my eyes, and a painful lump formed in my throat.  About 30 seconds later I hear ds5 sniffling in the backseat.  I asked him…”baby are you crying?”  He answered “Yes.”  “Why?” I inquired.  “Its the song” He said, so I pulled over where we had a good view of the lights and I turned around and held his hand for a few minutes while the song finished.  It was truly a “Christmas miracle” that something that touched me would touch my son in the same way at the same time.  I felt completely blessed to have felt God’s presence at that moment, and it is a memory I will cherish as long as I live.

May you keep the spirit of Christmas in your heart all year long.

Just thought I would share…  :)
