Happy Hump Day!

Posted lodyangel on May 21st, 2008 | Filed under General

It’s hump Day! Yes and I get to see BF today for a few short mnutes so I am definitely hoping it will be hump day in every sense of the word!  LOL

i am preparing myself to go run.  I really do not feel up to it, but I am going to make myself go.  I know I iwll feel wondeful afterwards.  My lower back is aching.  I am not sure why.

I made a fruit salad with splenda for me to eat later. I also made a pasta salad yeserday. I used the light dressing, but f you eat too much it could really hurt a diet.  So I am measuring it into 1 cup containers that way I am not tempted to overindulge.  I have been having these maddening cravings for pasta salad.  It has been going on for months.  Weird?  Later I am going to make up a chef salad using turkey and tons of veggies that I can eat on the go.  I am home now.  There is no reason for me to not be planning better meals for myself.  I went to Wal-mart the night before last after class and bought some food for the kiddies and bought myslef some LC & SO meals.

The problem I am running into is after class lets out at 10:00 I am hungry!  I have to find some way to prevent that.  Maybe take a smart snack with me so I can snack on it and not ruin my diet so late?  IDK…

BODILY FUNCTION UPDATE!!  WARNING!!!
AND yes, it happened again!  I am eating better and now the pipes are not working!!  It has been 2 days with out a substantial movement!!! (I know your all thinking Ewwwww!  Sorry for the disclosure!) This happens everytime!  Everytime I up my fiber intake it clogs up the pipes.  I drink on average about 3 liters of water a day!!!  Geesh!  I wish the body would adjust already!

END OF BODILY FUNCTION NEWS….

So after I took the nutrition quiz on Realage the other night it got me thinking that I really don’t have much of a clue about what I am putting in my body.  I try to make good healthy decisions, but really have no idea where that stacks up nutritionally. So starting today I am keeping a food journal so I can see exactly what I am missing nutritionally.

Off to run.  Love to all!

Suggestions for the constipation. I put Fibre-sure in my hot tea 2x’s a day, just to supplement my fiber intake. It is inulin–100% vegtable fiber; if you go to google, type in inulin and click the news icon on the top, you will get info on this. There’s an article from Health News Digest that I thought was good. When I remember, I take Spring Valley Norwegian Cod Liver Oil; orange flavored, not bad. I swallow it and take a big swig of hot tea and this eliminates any aftertaste. I get this at Wal-Mart. I think both of these would help with your problem although that’s not what I take them for.

One other thing—-I had a problem with constipation most of my adult life. When I mentioned this to a nurse practitioner she made me (kicking and screaming) have a colonoscopy even though I was many years before the normal start of these of 50. They removed 3 pre-cancerous polyps. Have not had a problem after they removed them. Never miss my recheck anymore either!

Interesting to see how your nutrition analysis comes out - where are you tracking your food?

I don’t have any advice on the constipation issue, my body handles fiber well but my husband has issues… Don’t have any ideas for him either, but the idea of supplements might be a good one.

The 1-cup pasta salad idea is a good one!

Hey hon - great job on the running! Love the pre-planned meals too - I bought some shit to cook too this weekend.

Girl, the constipation is not cute. I’m t hinking about you taking a sennakot (all natural vegetable laxative - NO CHEMICALS) at night to get you easy relief in the mornin’ till you adjust.

    xoxo

There is a drink mix out by All Bran you just add to a bottle of water. Works everytime for me. It is a little high in carbs so if you are doing the low carb thing it prob wouldn’t work for you but I thought I would mention it. I bought the pink lemonade flavor and it’s definitely drinkable.
