Fat super stormy Tuesday!

We are under a tornado watch! This would not be such a big deal if I did not live in a mobile, aluminum, rectangular, box. However, since I do it is looking to be a long night indeed. Bad storms are headed our way with the promise of 60-80 MPH winds. 80 MPH!!! That’s Hurricane force winds. So here I sit feeling pretty darn helpless as I gaze into the night. It is a beautiful night thus far. Much more like March or April than February. The high was 70 today and the temp is 60 right now. There is a light breeze and the clouds have temporarily cleared to reveal an amazing shot of the heavens. An inky black sky dotted with brilliantly breathtaking stars. So beautiful. I could look for days, yet the clouds are moving in and soon my glimpse of heaven will be gone. For you city gals, you haven’t seen stars until you get outta the city. They are amazing here away from the bright city lights. Once when I was a teenager, I brought home a friend to stay all night. She was half intoxicated and as she was getting outta the car, her gaze fell upon the dazzling milky way stretched out above her. “OH MY GOD!” she said. “Look at the stars! I have never knew there were so many stars!!!”
*Sigh* City girls.
So I sit here and await the storms. They won’t be here for a few more hours. I know I blog about storms a great deal. There is 2 reasons for that. #1 I have to wait and watch to catch the warnings. When you live in a mobile, aluminum, rectangular, box you learn to fear high winds, severe storms, and tornadoes. A strong wind could very well blow my well anchored box right off this hill. So I must watch and wait and when the warnings are issued (usually in plenty of time to leave said box safely) I gather up my young’ns and we head to a more permanent residence…my Mother’s humble abode next door.
As Johnny Fever once said “God hates mobile homes!”
Reason #2 that I blog about storms so much. I LOVE them! I love nature and all its majesty. I love nature even at it’s most destructive, frightening, worst. Those who have been reading my blogs know this. I will stand outside while a storm approaches. I will sit outside to watch a brilliant lightning show. I am crazy that way, but it fascinates me. One of the coolest things I ever did was drive the next county over during an ice storm to pick up my (then) boyfriend. I will never forget the sights I saw; a tree bent in half from the weight of the ice; (The branches hung to the ground. There was just enough space between the branches for a car to drive through and yes, I drove under it!) the bright flash of colors that you would catch outta the corner of your eye as the transformers all around you blew. That was truly a gorgeous array of colors. Sometimes the most dangerous things are the most beautiful and breathtaking. So I will stand outside during storms to watch the clouds roll in and I will stand outside and watch the lightening split a tree 5 miles away. There isn’t much more beautiful in this world, than mother nature at her most furious.
In the past I wanted to see a tornado, but I don’t know how I can do that without it tearing up stuff or harming others…so I guess I can live without ever seeing a real one.
Food today was not the best. I walked some outdoors tonight so I got a little exercise in. yesterday I ran 2 miles. It felt good and was fairly easy, but today my butt is a little sore. I am gonna try to run tomorrow. again. I have to start training for this 5K next month.
DS10 is feeling better, not 100% though. DS4 is feeling bad again, not too bad, just a runny noe so far. He looks really bad though. The kids are out of school for the next 2 days. There were so many students out of school that they called off school to stop the sickness from being spread. Unfortunately since I teach the next county over I have to go to work.
I slept a little better lat night, but didn’t get into bed until 1:00 AM. I bombed one of my midterms last night. I have to do better with that. I have to get a C in this class.
Well ladies, I hope you all have a peaceful night, and I hope I can get some sleep before the storms hit once again.
Go Hillary!

We were under a severe weather warning today. Storms are neat, but I live under tons of trees and am scared to death that I will have one fall through or on the house. One did when the previous owners lived here. So I guess I can somewhat relate to the whole “metal box thing”
I hope you all have a safe nite!
hey. I saw you on Runningahead.com. .They had you on the displayed quotes…I think it was about why you run or something. I am on there too as “Kitathena”.
