Chasing away Chubby

Focusing on Fit!

I just finished taking a fitness test from Fitness magazine.  You can do it online at www.fitnessmagazine.com/Howfitareyou.  I did fairly well.  There are 3 parts ot the test.  The first part is aerobic fitness.   On this area I scored mostly B’s: “Congrats- You are pretty aerobically fit, although a little more cardio wouldn’t hurt.”  -Don’t I know it!

The second part of the test is strength.  I thought I would do well on this portion of the test.  I scored Mostly B’s: “You’ve got strength-but there’s room for improvement.”  Darn!  I thought that would be my best area.

The last area I thought I would bomb!  It’s flexibility and balance.  I am not very flexible.  I mean I can barely straighten my leg out!  No joke.  Well luckily they didn’t test my leg flexibility!        Score?  Mostly A’s: “Wow. you are one definitley balanced-and limber- gal.”  WTH? Ii thought this would be my worse area and it is my best?  I guess we learn something new each day.  Then the test gives you recommendations on what you can try to improve.

So based on my test, here is my fitness goals that I am going to work on for December….Hell, November is almost gone!

Cardio:  Run on average 4 days a week.  Work on pushing myself on my runs more.  Get my mile time down to 11 mins flat.

Strength:  Work on being able to complete 5 boys push-ups.  (Right now I can barely squeak out one.)

Flexibility:  Be able to put my heels on the floor in yoga pose downward facing dog.  (I have NEVER been able to do this.)

Do a backbend.  ( I used to be able to do this.)

Lucklily, with some hard work I will be able to get into those size 14’s I put on my Xmas wish list!!!  And see one-derland before Xmas.

  1. I tried, but it kept saying the page I was looking for wasn’t there…

  2. Finally got through tonight. I had no problem with strength; missed the last one on the flexability and balance by a mile. Aerobic–OK, not great. So I guess I’m strong but with no real stamina and god help me if I need to stand for any length of time on one leg–this I knew from yoga. :) Thanks, it was fun!!!

  3. I use to do back bends myself. Shew its been years since I tried. I think my back may break if I did it now.

  4. Where you at little lady?

    Get back on here immediately!

How the hell are u doin’ on those 5 pounds….
