Skinny Bitch/ bitchfest

I am reading the book Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman & Kim Barnouin. It is awesome!  Straight forward and entertaining and it already has me re-thinking the way I eat.  I read the first 5 chapters in about 30 mins.  I am flying through it.  It is that good.  Here are some of the gems of wisdom found within the book.

 Chapter 1

pg11: On cigarettes:  “Cigarettes are for losers.  They are so 1989 and totally uncool.”

pg 12: On alcohol: “Habitual drinking equals fat-pig syndrome.  Beer is for frat boys, not skinny bitches,  It makes you fat, bloated, and farty.”

pg 13:  On Soda: ”Soda is liquid Satan.”

pg 14: On aspartame:”when methyl alcohol, a compound of aspartame, enters the body, it turns into formaldehyde…. Laboratory scientist use formaldehyde as a disinfectant or preservative.  They don’t fucking drink it.”

pg 15: On coffee: “Coffee is for pussies.”

pg 17: low fat/ fat free: “Whenever you see the words “fat free” or “low fat,” think of the words “chemical shit storm.”

pg 20: On Exercise:“Give up the notion that you can be sedentary and still lose weight.  You need to exercise, you lazy shit.”

And that is just chapter 1!  This book already has me seriously thinking about going vegan! (Something that I have been considering for sometime.)  If not at least eating a whole lot less meat and dairy.  I mean there really isn’t any meat or dairy that I can not live without nowadays.  So it’s a change I think I could slowly make.  No one needs to eat meat several times a day.  I need to cut back to only a few times a week and then to none at all.  I will report more valuable information I find with in the book every night as I read.

Speaking of my diet.  I did okay today.   I have improved my food quality so much that crap is starting not to taste good to me now.  I actually tried to drink a pop last week and couldn’t.  It tasted awful!! I would so much rather drink a big glass of Evian.  Other foods are getting the yuck factor as well.  Went through DQ a few days ago for a treat.  I got a small chocolate dipped cone.  It did not taste the same.  I was like…WTH?  It doesn’t taste worth the calories!  Then the other night we went through Sonic.  I am not a huge Sonic fan anyay.  But back in the day I loved Ched’r Peppers.  I bet at least 20 pounds of my weight was collected from eating those cheesy bits of hell.  So I ordered some and  a grilled chicken wrap ( evil treat, “healthier” choice).  The ched’r peppers were nasty.  I gave them to BF to eat.   I did eat the grilled chicken wrap which wasn’t the best wrap I  have ever had, but tasted okay.  Now I am not complaining!  I LOVE the fact that my taste for crap is going away.  It’s just so surprising that after all these years of eating crap that a mere 3 months into healthy eating I am craving healthier stuff, and the shit doesn’t taste good anymore.   See, miracles DO happen!

I am also pissed off at this new eco campaign against bottled water.  They are saying that everyone should drink tap water, that it is perfectly healthy to drink.  Whatever.  I know that the plastic from bottles is not good for your body and not good for the environment, but look at what they put in your tap water.  Flouride…a seemingly harmless additive, put in to assure that Americans have the most beautiful smiles on the planet.  Most countries in Europe have stopped puting flouride in their drinking water…they reason?  It causes cancer.  Yep!  You may be a corpse, but you  will have the prettiest set of teeth in the cemetary thanks to the government!  And Chlorine/ chlormine…Have you ever drank chlorine straight?  No!  And if you did do you know what would happen…You would DIE!  So what does our government do?…put chlorine in our water so it slowly poisons us!  WTH???  That’s just 2 chemicals. That does not count the millions of others running into our water supplies from farms, households, factories, etc., etc., etc.  My own community has an unusually high level of some sort of chemical….can’t remember the name.  So once a year we get a notice saying htat the water is testing high for this chemical that causes cancer.  So my city gvernment comes out and says “There is no real danger, unless you drink the water for 70 years”….  Excuse me!!!  I have lived here all my life and I wanna live past 70!!!!  MORONS!  When I am pushed between 2 evils i will choose the solution that has immediate ramifications on my life.  Sorry girls I will keep drinking my Evian.  I’ll recycle my bottles. Cancer at 70 is not an acceptable outcome.

And the FDA…don’t get me started on the FDA!!!  That group of individuals paid to protect the welfare of the general public is really fueled by the almighty dollar.  Ever wonder how some of these drugs make it through the FDA, and then after about a hundred people die, they realize then that the drug was dangerous?  PUULLLEEASE!  These drugs are put through countless tests, clinical trials, and no one noticed that there was possibly a problem with  the drug in the trial?  Whatever!  The drug companies pay the FDA to push these drugs through and the result is we are all taking drugs and products that could possibly be harmful to us.  Do a search on FDA and read the facts!  Don’t trust your government ladies!

Well I will get off my soap box now!

Ha!!! FDA….don’t get me started on the FDA! Thalidomide and DES (my mother took this trying to get pg. and I’m paying the price with higher ovarian ca. risk and tests every yr.) to name a couple. I was on a “great” allergy drug which was pulled cause it caused heart attacks in women. Trovan, an antibiotic now in very limited use cause it caused too many liver transplants; worked great on my sinus infection. Last yr. my dau was put on a “new” antibiotic—-I took her back for a different one after reading the lit. and finding it wasn’t tested on kids and to be given to adults only; later on learned it was pulled and there is a class action suit on behalf of persons harmed by it. I am at the point now where I won’t take a script from any dr. for anything less than 3 to 5 yrs. on the market, sorry, I’m done being part of the public testing pool.

What about filtering devices? Are those effective to get rid of all the crap in the water?
