I took my mom to her doctor’s appointment yesterday afternoon and whilst waiting for her to be called in, I perused the magazine rack only to find myself being “YELLED” at by headlines that read “Lose 15 pounds in one week!” and “7 pounds GONE with this AMAZING 7-day Detox!” and “She lost 130 pounds in 10 months!  FInd out how she did it!”  Hoooooooooooooooooly mooooooooooooooooly Batman!  We’re OBSESSED.  Admittedly, I picked up EVERY one of those magazines and honestly my Lovelies there’s nothing in there we don’t know ALREADY aaaaaaaaaaaand it’s truly all fluffy-foo if you ask me.

I was a teency bit bitter only because all these mags essentially fed the whole ”impatient dilemna” some of us have … like myself … and it sort of made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough and I wasn’t losing enough even though I JUST started my program12 days ago.  Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy do we need to lose 15 pounds in ONE week?  Whhhhhhhhhhy can’t we lost 15 pounds in TWO months if we have to?  Dumb.  Anyways, enough of that.

I went to the gym last night and I felt great!  Twice now I’ve gone in the evenings and it isn’t so bad.  The “getting-there” part was difficult because you know me and afternoon/evening workouts but once I was there it felt great!  I’m going to start using the sauna on top of my program to ’flush out’ even MORE toxins because I’m determined to FEEL GREAT inside.  I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and I don’t have a caffeine fetish so I suppose I’m half-way through but still, I DID and still do love fried foods and I love the taste of red meat (even though I’ve cut that down to 2-3 times a month as opposed to 2-3 times a week) so I want to get rid of the ‘food’ toxins I’ve pumped into my body.  I believe in detoxes but the kind of detoxes that INVOLVE good foods.  I’ve tried the master cleanse lemonade detox and I was incredibly MISERABLE I wanted to throw myself against the wall.  So no, forget THOSE kinds of ‘detoxes’, I like FOOD detoxes.

Don’t you? *smiling*
