I bought a scale!

Ok, so this is no big deal to most, but to me, it’s a great ordeal. See..I’ve always have been terrified of the scale, because it has always been the source of depression, binge eating, and food hoarding. Since beginning my weight loss journey, I’ve actually just had a rough guesstimate of my actual weight. I was weighed about a year ago as part of a health activity at work, and that was my first known weight since I hit my teens. That was 280, that’s what I’ve been going by. After a year of a poor diet of chicken wings, butter, fat, Reeses, and Mt.Dew, I could have actually been heavier than my known weight.

Yes, pathetic I know.

But, today, I bought a scale. And…drumroll please….

276!

And I’m happy about it.
And I’m happy to now be able to accurately see my progress.

I could have easily hit 300 before I started this lifestyle change. I will never know.

But I still won’t weigh myself daily. Never.

    First of all your blog name cracks me up! Classic big girl comment. “oh you have such a pretty face” geeze thanks! Lol second! So awesome that your under 280! I started at 280,I’m now down to 233.9! In less than 5 months! If I can get this far,so can you. I also have issues with the scale. I got into the habit of weighing myself everyday. It sucks. I still do it. So stay true to your word and don’t weigh everyday. It certainly can bring you down!

    Good for you! I like to weigh myself in two week intervals and aim for a minimum of 1 pound per week loss so that I don’t get disappointed myself. Its worked for me!

    I follow weight watchers. So far it has worked very well for me. I don’t do the meetings or pay for weighing in and all that jazz anymore. I did for about 3 months,then I was comfortable that j could do it on my own. So far so good! So if I can do it,so can anyone else. I’ve certainly had rough patches. But it really does work! Good luck to you on your journey,whichever way you choose to achieve your goals.
