My Plan

March 6th, 2009

Lots of people ask me what I did to lose weight, so I’ll post it all here :D

Food plan - Mediterranean Diet plan - just whole foods - lean chicken, fish, pork tenderloin, scads of veggies, brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat couscous, fat free or low fat dairy, olive oil, canola oil and nuts for my fats

Calories - 1500-1700
Exercise - 5 days a week 60-90 minutes a day

I track my calories with DietPower software

I started out on the Med. plan eating ~1500 calories a day and working out at home doing mostly aerobics videos (low impact or step) and free weights videos

About 9 months ago, I joined a gym and now work out with a personal trainer twice a week for and on my own for 3 days a week. On trainer days and two days on my own, I get 90 minutes a day (50 minutes weights and 55 minutes cardio) and one day a week is pure cardio (60 minutes). I am a sweaty mess every day I come home. I work out to challenge myself every day.. push just a little bit more than I think I can do.

    Hi Linda,
I came across your site when checking out the Sonoma Diet on 3 chicks. I’m at 260 lbs. and ready to start again. The Sonoma plan sounds like a lifestyle I will be able to live with. My question is since you are so in to cooking can you lead me to a few recipes that I can make twice a week to eat for dinner for the whole week. I love Mexican, Oriental and one dish meals. When I try to fix different meals each night, it requires too much shopping, cooking, time and $. I want to go the frig, pull out a main dish add vegies and it’s done. I will keep reading your blog as I find you fun, informative and uplifting.
    Thanks lots,
    Sandra

Sandra, I hope you come back here to read this. I didn’t know your forum name and I don’t know if you have a blog here or not. If you look along the right side of this page, you’ll see the word BLOGROLL. Under that section you’ll see something that says “My recipe and review page” There are scads of recipes there. Not all are MED/Sonoma friendly but lots are. Otherwise, in the Sonoma/Med Forum, at the top, there are lots of recipes there too. Just remember to pile on the veggies as they are your friends!
