I got home last night from our trip to Montana and I am whupped. Coming back seems to always take forever b/c the only stops we make are for gas and bathroom breaks. On the way to Montana, we stopped at Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, Devil’s Tower, Custer’s Battle Field and one stop on the first day home; Yellowstone. It makes for very long travel days.
My oldest DD and I went to Montana and basically presented Vacation Bible school to a group of Native Americans. I did this last year with my youngest DD as well. We had a blast but are super tired. I took today off to catch up on laundry, housework and sleep. It was a good trip but I did feel that I didn’t do any of my jobs well as I had three different hats to wear. However, over all, it was great. DH had a dozen roses for me when I got home so that was nice. I guess he missed me a little.
Youngest DD attended Stephen Foster Music Camp at Eastern Ky. University in Richmong, KY and got a solo! I was bummed that I didn’t get to be there but DH video taped it for us so I’ll still get to hear it. About 15 people auditioned for the solo and she and one other girl got them. I am so proud of her.
I was definitely active this past week. Our classroom was on the opposite end of the camp from our cabin. I must have walked across that camp about 10 times each day. Happy to report that I’m actually down .5 lbs. I guess all that walking did it b/c we ate out the whole way out there and back. All that walking helped me realize that I do need to get and stay on track with losing weight and being healthy. My lungs were really struggling this week. Part of that, I know, is b/c the change in climate. But a big part of it is b/c I’m overweight. So, I’ll be blogging more often and updating on my progess. Any encouragement is greatly appreciated.
Gotta run; the dryer is calling! have a great day!
The trip sounded fantastic! And how sweet that you had roses waiting for you.
June 30, 2008 @ 2:57 pmSounds like a great trip (except the lonnnng days in the car - don’t miss that at all!).
You seem really motivated on the exercise - and it’s great you lost some while on vacation, that’s not very common, and it really helps keep the momentum going.
Good job!
