Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

I  thought I’d fill you in on our “secret” weekend.

Friday night-Louisville Riverbat baseball game. DH bought “grand slam” tickets that entitled us to a free bats hat, a hot dog and a soda. We had a blast. The entertainment for the night was a guy called Rockin Rob and his Flying Dogs. The dogs did tricks with Frisbees. There were also fireworks after the game. Bats played the Iron Pigs (seriously-who comes up with these names?) and won.

Saturday-Shaker Village. This was after we had to replace a hose on the radiator! That might have had something to do with us being a little disappointed with the village. That and the fact that oldest DD wasn’t feeling well. It was a nice day but not what we expected.

Sunday-Mom’s gravesite. We placed flowers on the tombstone and we walked around the graveyard pointing out different family members to DH and talking about mom’s family and so on. DD was feeling some better but her eye started bothering her again after we got home. We thought it was allergies and treated it as such. She went to the doctor Monday and she has pink eye. I’ve been calling her Pinky. She doesn’t appreciate my sense of humor at the moment. ) Her, sister, did however and asked that if oldest DD is going to be called Pinky, she wants to be called “the brain”.     :)    All in all, it was a great weekend.

Monday, we had my brother’s bday at our house. We’re taking him to see Indiana Jones. It was pretty good.I think the girls would have enjoyed it more if they had seen the other ones first but they seemed to have a good time.

Eating-went well. I ate some things I don’t normally eat (fried chicken for one) but don’t feel that I overindulged. I definitely got exercise in b/c every single thing we did involved walking; especially Saturday and Sunday. I guess I must have handled things okay b/c my weight was the same. No loss but I can handle that for this week especially since I’m on my cycle.

So, all in all, a nice family get away. We all enjoyed it; just being together would have been nice enough but the activities helped create some great memories.    :)

Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great day. God bless.
