Things here are going well although I have to admit that last night was rough. I won’t go into details but it included a flat tire, two broken tire studs and a tow trip to home from 45 minutes away; the van on the back and me in the cab of the tow truck. *sigh* We have bought three new tires within the past 6 weeks or so. I think our “supplier” has been placing magnets in them!  :)  The good news is that I didn’t turn to food for comfort. I prayed instead and then watched a comedy when I got home. I had some popcorn (made on top of the stove-no microwave stuff for me-yuck) and my oldest DD put a handful of chocolate chips in with the popcorn. It was really good and got me the little bit of sweet my PMS body was craving.

Speaking of my oldest DD, we had a nice talk last night and strides were made. We at least understand where the other is coming from now.

In honor of the “gentler to myself” attitude, I decided to repost my short term goals. Maybe if they are here where others can see, I can be held more accountable and called on the mat when I’m too hard on myself again. So, here you go:

short term goals:

  • Get under 240 (248 right now)
  • Exercise at least three times a week (one of those times being yoga)
  • Keep my food journal (also long term)
  • Read a chapter in my Bible each morning (I’m reading Psalm right now)
  • Accountability everyday
  • keep my back straight! I have a terrible habit of schlumping.

 Now, for my funny today: I was teaching my three year old Sunday School class about baby Moses. I told them how his mommy put him in a basket so he would be safe. I asked them what they thought about his mommy putting him in a basket. One little girl said “well, my mommy put a baby in her belly.” Her mom is due in November.  :)
