Today was a good day. I went to the Y this morning and walked for about 30 minutes. I was going to go a little longer but my youngest DD was worried about getting home and getting her hair all curled and so on for their performance today. So, to ease her mind, I cut it short. I am sore today. Yoga really worked me out. The instructor had us do about 90% of the class with a ball between our legs. My legs are crying out for mercy today! Ugh. But it’s worth it. I can feel my legs literally changing shape. It’s amazing! Tomorrow it’s back to the dreaded weight room. I think that’s part of the reason I’m so sore today: weight room then yoga might not be a good combination!
I heard from a friend that another friend has lost about 75 pounds in the last year through band surgery. I have to admit that the first thing I thought was “cheater”. :) But that wasn’t fair. My sister in law and her hubby had the surgery and they look great. My DH thought about having the surgery but decided against it after talking to his sister. Turns out she just doesn’t enjoy food anymore. DH decided he wanted to lose weight but if he had to eat, which he does, he wants to enjoy it. Lots of arguments for and against the surgery. I’m glad my friend is on the road to being healthy. I hope she is also changing her eating habits and exercising. To have the surgery without making changes usually means weight gain. Anyone had experience with this surgery?
I found a quote that sums up what I need to do. I have the head knowledge, I just have to keep applying it. It’s what I need to do. Here’s the quote of the day:
Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Have a great day!
