Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

I had to take my youngest DD to the doctor today. She came home from her dad’s with poison ivy. It wasn’t bad yesterday and we were doing over OTC stuff and natural remedies. We woke her up before we left for work this morning and it wasn’t any better; not any worse. When she got up for the day, she called me at work and said it was bad. So, I took her to the doctor. After sitting in the waiting room for an hour and the exam room for another hour, I chased down a nurse. Her reaction when she saw DD was to stop in her tracks and say, Oh. Same reaction from the doctor. DD got two shots, two scripts and OTC Benadryl gel. She’s napping right now to let her meds kick in. The doctor said that by this evening the swelling should be significantly better or gone. Which leads to my next subject: teenagers.

DD had a movie night planned for tonight. I informed her that she might have to cancel depending on what the doctor said. Doc said it would be okay as long as she felt like it but to limit contact and make her guests aware that she has poison ivy. Therefore, I will have 10 teenagers at my house, including my own, tonight for movie night. We do this about once a quarter. Most of them will be spending the night. We’re ordering pizza. I’m going to eat with them but will eat in moderation. I will also start with a salad. I am also going to have a serving of muddy buddies. I haven’t had them in a long time. I have already asked both DD’s to help keep me accountable for my eating tonight.  I’m looking forward to this evening; being around all of those kids keeps me young!  :)

Work-Oh, my; difficult today. We were short three people and some of us that did come weren’t really there.   :)  But, no stress eating: God is good.

I did go to the Y this morning. I walked the track for 40 minutes. Baby steps; baby steps that will lead to giant success!

I ready this on a website the other day: Motivation is what gets you started; habit is what keeps you going. That’s what we’re all working to do; develop habits. That takes time but each step is a step in the right direction.

Have a great day.
