Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

Yeah. We finally got a big enough snow that we made snow cream. I’m completely happy now; spring can come anyday now. :)

Let me tell you about my day Friday. That’s part of the reason I haven’t been on here this weekend: I was recuperating. :) You know it’s going to be a bad day when, first thing in the morning, you get shampoo in your eye while in the shower. OUCH. Then I was getting a glass of water and WHOOSH-the kitchen water faucet came off. Soaked me from head to waist and there was water everywhere. I was on the brink of putting a call into old Noah. Fortunately, I wasn’t ready for work yet but it was still a mess to clean up. Then I got to work, parked out back, in the pouring rain, and remembered I couldn’t get in that way b/c my youngest DD-bless her heart-had my set of keys that had the office key. Already soaked by elements other than nature that morning, I was not about to walk around the block in the rain. So, I drove, yes, drove, around to the front of the block and parked my car there. DH called me and we had a……discussion, shall we say, about a certain issue regarding my oldest DD. And last but not least, this in turn lead me to giving my DD a chewing out that left us both in a bad news. But things took a turn for the better when one of my BFF brought me a little gift; no reason: just b/c we’re friends gift. It was a little duck, actually I call it Pluckster b/c it sort of looks like a mix of a platypus, duck and rooster, that quacks when you squeeze it and a sample of coffee; chocolate velvet. Yum. Then another friend informed me that she is expecting! Yeah! So, day turned out good; no great even b/c God even gave me enough snow for snow cream. And I’m happy to report the rest of the weekend has gone beautifully. :)

We had a family meeting Thursday and it seems that Weight watchers is the method we’re going to use. My hubby wasn’t too happy about this but he acquiesced to the majority. We told him that it was b/c he seems to pick things that are unobtainable at the moment. He wants to jump in head first and go to say all veggies in one fell swoop. I told him that was too hard for us and I felt too hard on our bodies. I told him he could go all veggies after he lost about 25-50 pounds and his body would be better able to handle it. He truly, truly isn’t happy. We also decided to exercise at least three times a week. I however, am going to try to get back on the everyday routineĀ  due to my b/p. I haven’t had it checked in a couple of weeks. I need to do that soon. But we have a plan. I bought a lot of fruit and veggies and some 100 calorie packs today at the grocery. We’re just not going to bring it into the house. It seems that we are all on board and that’s what it’s going to take. We’re going to get a starter kit soon from WW but until then we are going to go ahead and start journaling.

I have a confession to make: I am a geek. I was thrilled, thrilled, when our library finally went computerized. I look at the merriam webster website everyday to read the word of the day. I am a word nut. I read a word in a story theĀ other day that I’d never heard before: sycophant. And no, I’m not going to tell you what it means: to quote my mother look it up yourself. :) It is, though, fun to say; ranks right up there with debauchery and iota. :)

That’s it from this corner of the world. Have a blessed day!
