Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

Calorie counting is the name.  It looks like calorie counting has won as the method of weight loss at my house. I’m okay with that: I just wanted a unified front so we can all help keep each other accountable. I found a great place to count calories. countcalories.about.com It’s great. You punch in your information and they give you an estimate of how many calories you should be eating a day to lose weight. They also have a neat food log and exercise log that will come in very handy. I’m enjoying it so far.

Tomorrow will take planning b/c baby, I’m eating some of that anniversary cake! We are having a surprise dinner for my bro and his wife for their 25th wedding anniversary. I have the menu from the restaurant so we are making healthy decisions before we even get there and have committed to helping each other stick to healthy. However, 25th anniversaries only come around once and I am having a small piece of cake which will be counted in my food log. It’s so pretty and the bakery does an excellent job.

I plan to do my 35 minutes on the elliptical followed by and hour of yoga. I’m thinking yoga might be good for my bp. Wonder what it would be after yoga class? I might have to have my friend come by and take it for me tomorrow.  :)

I have contacted my “Dr. Quinn”. :)  We have a friend who is a natural remedy specialist (not sure that’s the real title but it works for me) and I called to see what all natural remedies there were to help bring down the bp. She recommended some footbaths and a few other things. I’m going to talk to DH tonight and see when I could start. I’ll take all the help I can get. :)

Well, gotta run. I’m so excited about tomorrow! My bro and his wife have no idea we’re doing this. They think just my family is taking them out when in actuality, all the sibs and our dad and his wife will be there! We got them a gift cert. for a weekend away to a B&B in Gatlinburg. I’m so excited. Did I mention that yet?

As you can tell, I’m in better spirits today. God spoke to me through song, which he does quite often with me. This time it was “Ignition” my Toby Mac. It could have come straight from the book of Psalm: create in me a clean heart, o God and renew a right spirit within me”. Psalm 51:10. That’s what I want. I want to cross the line from sleepwalking through my days into the glorious light of God’s power and choosing life. I want that ignition flipped on. I’m ready for it and all it entails.

So, yes, I have decided this can indeed be done. But not on my own. And it’s not a sprint: it’s a marathon. Just gotta keep on keeping on. Never give up; learn to forgive myself. Start over everyday. It will happen. Health, physical and spiritual will happen.

Gotta run. Have a great evening. :)
