My first day of “Operation Lower BP” was a success. I went to the Y and made good eating choices even though I was tempted. I was eyeing some temptation and at first, it looked really good. But then the numbers 160/100 flashed across my mind and that effectively killed the temptation! I have talked to a friend at work about the situation and she is going to be my accountability partner at work. That seems to be my worse stress eating place.
My hubby and oldest daughter and I are spending the day together. We’re going to the flea market and the mall; just hanging out. We’re all looking forward to it. That will be my exercise today: walking the mall.
Some people commented on how blessed I am to have the sisters I have. They’re right. There are five of us siblings and I’m the next to youngest. We are very blessed to be friends as well as family. They are the first people I run to with the good and the bad. I’m so grateful for their encouragement and accountability. Hope you have someone in your life who can do the same for you. Oh, wait: you do b/c you’re here.
Here’s to a 2nd successful day. Have a great day!
Good job!!!
February 2, 2008 @ 11:27 amThat’s great that you found someone to be your accountability partner; especially if work is where your temptation is the greatest. Where I work; I’m usually alone for the most part….surrounded by temptation. So, you’re very lucky to have someone.
And I also have many siblings that I can turn to for help. I have eight older sisters and one younger brother; we’re a tight knit family. For a family of 10 kids, we all get along well. I moved 1000 miles from home (and consequentially, from my siblings and parents), so I can’t turn to them all the time anymore. Which has helped with my own independence. But when I go home to visit, it seems like nothing has changed. So, I’m with you on that boat as far as support in your own family; we’re both truly blessed to have such help and love in our own families.
Good luck!
