Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

Well, I did drag my sorry butt out of bed this morning and hit the Y. Yeah. I did 30 minutes in the circuit room. I feel good. It had been so long since I’ve gone I’d forgotten how it helps get your day off to a good start. :)

I posted my new health info on my sister’s yahoo group yesterday. My youngest sister told me that if anyone could lower their bp, it would be me. She reminded me of all the things in my life that I have changed over the years:

“You left a horrible marriage, raised two wonderful kids AND finished college as a single parent, got your own house and waited until God had just the right man for you.  Now, with all that you have accomplished, you should be able to kick that BP’s BUTT!!!!   YOU GO GIRL!!!!!   :)”

I told her that I only accomplished the things I did b/c I had a great support system; God, family and friends. But it was good to read that and think; you know what: she’s right. If I can accomplish all that with the love and support of my family and friends and my God, why would this situation be any different? I think maybe I forgot how stubborn I really am. :)

So, changes are a-coming. We’re having a family meeting Sunday to discuss strategies and plans. My whole household needs to eat healthier and stick with it.

Oh, sidenote: I may have wanted to shoot my DH yesterday but on Tuesday, when this bump first started bothering me, he was fantastic. He brought me some flowers and also some Valentine pencils. I have a pencils fetish. I know: I’m cheap. :) And I’m talking about the kind you have to sharpen, not those mechanical things. I guess I’ll let him live after all. Hee.

Have a blessed day!

Sometimes we need to have someone remind us of how far we’ve come. It’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day that we forget to appreciate all the progress we’ve made. You lucky to have such a great sister.

Thank God for sisters… I don’t know what I would do without mine! It sounds like you have an amazingly positive attitude - Good for you for getting up and getting moving this morning!

I have always found, in life, that the support we need is always there if we just open our eyes to it.
