Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

http://3fatchicks.com/diet-blogs/thebell said something very interesting in her blog the other day. Here it is:

Apparently researchers say that January 24 is the most depressing day of the year. As silly as it sounds, today seems to be that sweet spot on the calendar where New Year’s resolutions have lost their luster, work is picking back up after the extended holiday season and winter snow has shifted from being magical to annoying.

Well, all I have to say is January 24th, 2008 must be the longest day ever recorded b/c my resolutions are definitely losing their luster! :)

I’m up 2.5 lbs this week. *sigh* That’s a little depressing after losing 3.5. However, at least I didn’t gain it all back.I’ve been thinking about it since I weighed and I know exactly what my problems are:

1-I’m not getting in bed early enough which for certain means I’m not getting up at 5:00 in the morning to go to the Y.

2-I’m not making good food choices.

3-I’m tired and have been watching too much t.v.-even though we don’t have cable. We love the show “24″ and a friend of ours has all the seasons on dvd. So we borrow them. OF course, if you have this show right at your fingertips, you can’t watch just one which leads to getting to bed late which leads to no exercise. It’s a vicious cycle. :) We’re on Day 5 so don’t tell me anything. I know Jack Bauer is pretty awesome but my faves are Tony, Bill and Chloe. Sorry, I digress.

4-I’m not drinking enough water.

So, the question is, yet again, what am I going to do about these issues? Here’s my plan:

1-get in bed before 10:00 p.m. every night. If I can do this, I’ll get up in the morning. Any later than that, even just a few minutes, my feet just won’t hit the floor that early.

2-Make better food choices by surrounding myself with healthy snacks and eating time alternatives. Take fruit, V8, 100 calorie packs to work.

3-Just say no to Jack Bauer! At least after 9:15 p.m. or so. ;)

4-Make sure I have my purified water at work and drink it!

Okay, hold me to it, ladies. Help me by continuing to do what you’re already doing; encouraging and making sound suggestions. Thanks so much. Have a blessed day!

I’ve really started thinking that this January will NEVER END.

I think your plans sound very smart and do-able. You can do it!

Amen to January not ending. Maybe it’s the year that’s the problem; even February is longer than usual this year! :)
