Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

I’m really trying to avoid stress eating today. It’s only 7:32 a.m. here and I’ve already had a round with my oldest daughter. It sucks being the parent sometimes. So, before I start with my list of housecleaning I want to get done today (I’m off work today) I will take a few minutes for prayer and to center my thinking.

Yesterday was a good day but I came home from work at 5:00 and went straight to bed and slept through until 8:00. I was so tired. I think it was a combination  of PMS and my head spinning b/c of the training I was in yesterday. We have a lot of changes coming down the pike at work in the next few weeks. They are good changes but tThings will be challenging until everyone gets in their groove. But after things settle down, these changes will definitely be good ones.

Oh, here are some stats I found in the Weight Watcher’s magazine. Eye opening.
People with prediabetes who lost just 7% of their body fat cut their risk of developing diabetes by 58%.

According to a study at the University of Pavia in Italy, 49% of women in the study were able to bring their blood pressure down by  “slimming down”.

Losing a “modest” amount of weight can lower cholesterol levels. Getting your cholesterol level within normal range and keeping it there for 2 years can reduce your risk of heart disease by as much as 75%.

Even more reasons to get and stay healthy. Since that was so heavy, here’s some fun:

Southern Home Security System

HOW TO INSTALL A SOUTHERN HOME SECURITY SYSTEM!!!

1) Go to a second-hand store, buy a pair of men’s used size 14-16 work boots
2) Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine
3) Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazine
4) Leave a note on your door that reads:

Hey Bubba, Big Jim, Duke and Slim,

I went for more ammunition. Back in an hour. Don’t mess with the pit bulls-
they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don’t
think Killer took part in it but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway,
I locked all four of’em in the house. Better wait outside.

Tussles with my teenage daughter always seem to make me want to nibble, too. I’ve managed to resist after the last couple, but what is that about, anyway?

My oldest daughter stresses me out constantly….she is just so negative and self-centered right now. I’ve been told that she’ll grow out of this. Meanwhile, I have to constantly find alternative ways of dealing with the stress….like, coming here and blogging and posting on 3FC. Works like a charm!

When I was single, I kept a pair of men’s shoes right beside the door.:)
