I’m sitting here in Alaska…okay; not really in Alaska; just feels like it: trying to get warm but thinking happy thoughts about my DH. He has been saying for months he wanted to go to the Y and check out a water exercise class they have there but has never pursued it; no matter how persistent my girls and I have been in asking. Water exercise is what he needs b/c his knees are in bad shape. Anyway, this morning my alarm didn’t go off when it was supposed to (changed the time but didn’t push the button!) so I called DH to suggest we all go to the Y tonight. He can check out the class while the girls get their exercise. Then we’ll go out for healthy dinner at subway or somewhere. He agreed. It surprised me so much, I said; I’m sorry? Which is the southern equivalent of Excuse me?
I couldn’t believe he agreed so quickly. So, the plan is in motion; praying nothing happens to get the train off track.
On another note, I went online earlier and checked my BMI. Let’s just say it’s bad but will improve soon. I actually fall into the severly obese category. But I am working toward being “normal” whatever that means. :p Good news is by losing 53 pounds I get downgraged to moderately obese. Who comes up with this stuff anyway? Can someone just speak plain English? Of course, I wouldn’t like that either b/c it would be, “hey, tubby; lose some weight before you keel over with a heart attack.” Actually, I don’t like the way either one sounds so I guess I’ll just have to stay on track with getting healthy.
One thing about the BMI calculator I did find funny: when you put in your waist measurement, it informed you how high your health risk was. With my waist measurement, my health risk is “very high”. Ya think? Couldn’t figure that one out with the other info?
That’s all for now. Have a blessed day!
What is your DH?
January 14, 2008 @ 1:45 pmI’m sorry; DH is dear husband.
January 14, 2008 @ 1:55 pmHow great that you’ll be going together! It makes such a difference when you have a team working together.
January 14, 2008 @ 2:12 pmDH is always supportive of anything I undertake. I’ve been truly blessed with a good husband. It will be easier, tho, for both of us if we are both actively pursuing better health. I’m so excited!
January 14, 2008 @ 2:22 pmAquafit is SO good for BBWS. Its a healthy alternative, to hitting the gym. So many alternatives to look at in the water. And we dont weigh as much in the water, we are so boyant. Enjoy the workout.oh……try and have NO CHEESE on your subs….it is proceessed…and SO BAD for us. Why does it have to talk so good?
January 14, 2008 @ 2:29 pmYeah, all they need to do now is come up with a talking scale. I can hear it now “Get off! Get off! I can’t breathe!” I’d actually already thought of not getting cheese; definitely no chips. Probably get the healthy alternative w/bottled water to drink, yogurt or fruit and a nice, healthy sandwich w/lots of veggies.
January 14, 2008 @ 3:18 pmYou got me to LOL with the comment on the waist measurement!
it’s true we have plenty of ways to see how out of shape we are…
January 14, 2008 @ 4:36 pm“hey, tubby; lose some weight before you keel over with a heart attack.”
Funny! I guess everyone wants to be politically correct these days, huh? Trying to find polite ways of telling me I’m fat!
