We did it. We made it to the Y and DH got to check out the “aquacise” class. I asked him what he thought and he said, and I quote, “it was a hen party”. Now, for those who don’t know, a hen party is a bunch of women getting together and talking a spell. I asked if he knew any of the chicks and he said one. He wasn’t too thrilled with the fact that he’d be the only guy there. However, there is another class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and he’s going to go back and check it out. He also just found out that one of his best friends is coming to the Y and just swimming. He’s thinking about asking this friend to be his accountability partner and just going to the Y to swim. Either way, first step was made tonight. Yeah!
We did eat at subway and I got one the low fat sandwiches w/no condiments or cheese. It was different; I’ll have to get used to doing without some things but it was very good. I don’t eat cheese that much b/c we have a cheese factory in the town I live in and let me tell you, that stuff stinks when they’re processing it. Everytime the wind blows the wrong way, towards my house, I say, jiminy crickets; I’m never eating cheese again. I mean major stinko; ranks right up there w/getting sprayed by a skunk. Yuck. Of course, I buy cheese that is organic and from local farmers. We have a local source of organic cheeses and they are excellent. Plus, I don’t have to smell them coooking!
That’s it. Just wanted to let everyone know we did make it to the Y. Oh, I did 2 miles on the treadmill b/c the ellipticals were all taken. We need more of them; especially in the ladies gym; we only have two in there. Of course, it won’t be so busy by March. A lot of the new year’s resolutionists (is that even a word?) will have stopped coming by then, unfortunately. I hate to see people start out strong and then quit. But, even the Y knows it happens; we’re not supposed to use the equipment for more than thirty minutes at a time and we’re not allowed to bring guests until the month of March.
God bless.
Finally got a chance to catch up on blog posts from the last few days — I never realized that living near a cheese factory would be a be considered a negative. I guess it’s true when they say “too much of a good thing…”
