I’m glad everyone got a laugh out of my post yesterday; only too glad to help. Today, however, laughing girl got da blues. Not really but I did weigh in and measure today and it was rather sobering news. Here are my stats:
January 8, 2008
Weight: 246.5
Measurements: breast: 46 inches
upper arms: 16 1/2 inches
waist: 42 1/2 inches
thigh: 28 inches (I measured high; where my relaxed hand first hits my thigh while standing).
calf: 18 1/2
*sigh* I have a lot of work to do! But I’m ready. I know, with God’s help and the encouragement I get from family and friends, present company included, I can achieve my goal of being healthy. It will not be easy. It will not be quick. But it will be long lasting. I just have to keep my eyes focused on the prize before me, as Paul says in Phillipians 3:14; just got a keep on moving on.
I’ve also attached a picture my girls took for me this morning. Good news is I really like this outfit. I feel fun and funky in it.
Time to sign off. It sounds like it might be “fixin” to storm. For those who don’t know, “fixin” is a southern thing, at least it is in Kentucky. On the lighter side, I had a friend who’s from Puerto Rico and she asked me once if southerners ever finished anything they start. I had no idea what she was talking about so she said, well, people are always fixin to do something but they finish anything!
Gotta love those culture differences. God bless.
Love your pictures, more people need to be posting pictures! Good luck with your goals it really helps when you have supportive people around you that want the best for your health
Ps im just a random commenter on blogs I find interesting!
January 8, 2008 @ 9:27 pmHi Lillie!
Please don’t get discouraged. Yes, losing this amount of weight takes time and a whole lot of effort. In some ways, this has become a cliche, but the journey really is best taken as one day at a time….even one step at a time! It also helps to set small goals for yourself and concentrate on reaching them. I often tell myself that any success is a very good thing and reaching a ten pound goal seems much more obtainable.
You can do this. Women just like us have done this. If they can, we can!
January 8, 2008 @ 10:45 pmHey, ladies; thanks for the comments. I know it can be done and look forward to reaching my goal. Visiting the goal forum here at 3fatchicks really helped. Thanks for the encouragement!
