Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

Okay; day-what?three? and I blew it. I had guests for dinner so you know, I HAD to have some dessert to serve them? Right? RIGHT? So, we’ll lay this off on my best friend and her dh. Shout out-love ya-even if you made me blow it tonight. :)

We had the privilege of serving dinner to some friends, not guests, more family really and I blew it. I did very good today with my eating. I took healthy snacks to work with me and drank all the water I was supposed to drink. I did well with dinner as well, a low calorie dish prepared with love and care by my DH and then……and THEN……I ate two pieces of dessert. Ugh. Two things; first-why do we feel like we have to have dessert when serving dinner to family and friends? Why not a nice fruit salad instead of chewy gooey goodness? I guess it’s our culture. I know it’s the culture here in the south. Part of the way we show we care is by stuffing our family and friends with food until their stomach’s bloat and they can’t get out of their chair. :) Second, why, oh why, did I eat it? Don’t get me wrong; I think dessert-most any food actually, is good in moderation. I am hard pressed, though, to define TWO pieces as moderation. *sigh* However, in the words of another southern woman, Tomorrow is a new day. (if you don’t know who I’m talking about, you must be a darn yankee). :)  And in the words of our savior, Behold old things are passed away and all is made new (II Corinthians :17); even better.

Now that I’ve confessed, here’s what the rest of my day looked like:

Y-30 minutes on elliptical; breakfast-1 serving cream of wheat w/1teaspoon butter and two teaspoons sugar; lunch-stir-fried green beans, potatoes and onions and one orange; snack-granola bar and TWO pieces of cake. dinner: 1 serving of casserole, one serving of corn, two servings (one very small) of homemade mac and cheese. 1 glass of tea; 1 cappuccino; 1 serving 2% milk; 100 oz. of water.

So, tomorrow is a new day. I’ll be starting mine with a trip to the Y. See ya on the flip side. God bless.

Hi Lillie. You didn’t blow it….you merely hit one of those nasty bumps in the middle of your road. Just pick yourself up and keep going. This is how its done, right? You can do this!
