Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet

Most would consider me a fad diet fiend. They are probably right, but I live alone, have no family or friends nearby and not much motivation. On December 13th, 2009 weighing in at 232lbs (at only 5′4″) I started day one of Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet and thus far I’m seeing results. If you’re not familiar with the diet I’ll give a quick explanation.

You eat 6, 90 calorie protine and amino acid packed “cookies” each day. These will substitue for your breakfast, snacks and lunch. You can eat these cookies anytime you’re hungry, they are an apatie supressant, so they really do surpress your hunger pains. Drink lots of water and other 0 calorie diet drinks. I drink lots of hot tea since it’s winter and cold out! End your day with a low calorie dinner approximately 300 calories. That’s it! Simple huh?

Questions you may be asking yourself are the following:

This sounds too good to be true, how effective is it?: As of this morning, day 5 on the diet, I’m down 5.2lbs. This is with little to no exercise.

Diet cookies? How good could they taste?:The cookies actually taste pretty darn good, EXCEPT the Banana! Yuck! The chocolate ones are my favorite followed by the oatmeal raisin!

How much?: The cookies are rather costly at first glance. But take into consideration they are substituting a lot of food. One box of a week’s supply is $59 on www.cookiediet.com/ and even more at GNC. So a one month supply usually runs you $236, but what would all your meals cost you for a month? Lunch at work sometimes is $10 a pop! Cut out the lattes, chips, sodas, beer/liquor [this is the worst part! :o( ]and the cost is pretty much the same.

Is it actually healthy?:  I’ve read mixed thing. All I’m able to say is I feel fine. Dr. Siegal does encourage you to consult your physician before starting on the diet and to continue to check up with him/her during the process. I told my Dr. about it, he had not heard of it, but wished me luck. I’ll see him in a few months and see what he has to say!

Well that’s the jist of it, wish me luck and I’ll try and post my progress daily!!

Cheers!

I tried this years ago … I got tired of eating the cookies. I needed real food. Good luck!
