it was a very good year

Every time I listen to It Was A Very Good Year, I think of Chris Noth. The reason for this, there is an episode of Sex and the City where Big takes Carrie to a small italian restaurant he frequents. The band invites him up to sing, and he dedicates this song to “his girlfriend” (the first time carrie has heard him refer to her as his gf) and he starts singing this song.

Random tidbit about me for the day.

So my work schedule has been all over the place lately. Friday and Sunday I worked 1pm-9pm (worst shift ever) and saturday and today I worked my usual 9-5. the yo-yoing is exhausting. Saturday night we went to the Madrigal production at the high school. We go every year but this year, *whistles*….Deplorable. It was so haphazardly organized and the solo pieces were really off key and…well…disappointing. I feel bad for saying that because they ARE high school kids but I feel like the solos are awarded for the wrong reasons. “Well she can sing this solo because she’s a senior and what the hey, normally I wouldn’t but this is her last chance so I’ll let her do it”  ANYWAY the food is usually good but the 3 hours of silliness and off key singing made the peach cobbler a little less worth it.

So, I weighed in at 187 on the dot this morning. Guess what? Today was the last weigh in for the biggest loser challenge! I lost a total of 8.4 lbs and lost a total of 4.3% of my starting weight. I was the biggest loser on my team. BAD ASS.

by the way, my size 14s are starting to get saggy. This is just getting frustrating.

Anyway, I let myself splurge and have FRENCH FRIES tonight with my chick fil a sandwich. Oooh. I’m a bad girl.

58 lbs later and I can’t eat french fries without feeling guilty for a week. What is that?!

So I’ve been seriously considering going back to school and eventually…don’t laugh…getting my teaching certification. I don’t want to say its a means to an end, but this hourly pay racket is starting to wear thin. And I realize that with only a high school diploma, it means it will be years before I can leave the racket for good, but in the long run I think it will be worth it, even if I find something else to do with a degree by then. But then again, my husband has a bachelors in psychology from Rice university, and he teaches honours algebra II. Every time people hear he’s a teacher and he went to Rice, I always get the same question.

WHY????

But sisterchicks, I’m unsure what age range I would want to go for. Figure that out later, I suppose. Probably EC-4.

I’m getting bored so I”m going to just give you the goods and go.

today:
Weigh in: 187 on the dot.
lunch: LC French Bread Pepperoni Pizza
dinner: chick fil a sandwich on wheat (no butter), fries.

later.
