since we’ve no place to go…
work wasn’t that bad. It felt like I hadn’t been gone for almost two weeks. That sucked.
This is going to be a lame update by the way. I’m tired and distracted and blah blah blah.
Today I started the arduous process of customizing a calendar for my sister in law on shutterfly.com I spent hours on it before finally recruiting DH to fix and finish it. She’s going to be like, oh great, a stinkin’ calendar. and I’m going to choke her because it took hours and hours to do.
Uh. Hmm.
Lets just get on with it, shall we?

It snowed here tonight. I can’t tell you how stoked I was. I ran outside in my workout duds and stood on the front lawn giddy with delight. I ran back in the house, bundled up james to the best of my ability, grabbed the camera, threw on a sweater, and ran back outside. it was already dark out so I didn’t know if the pictures would turn out at all. Luckily, they did! It doesn’t snow in this part of texas very often. It was too warm for the snow to stay once it hit the ground but our fence briefly had a coating of white on it. DH tells me the last time it snowed and stuck around was actually christmas eve 2004. What I wouldn’t give for James’ first christmas to be white. Oh well. I got to stand in the snow for the first time in years! Yay!
here is our house, all christmassy and magical

James wants to know what the heck mommy has gone apeshit about!

goodnight. I’m skipping the kroger company christmas picnic tomorrow night. I miss out on the frito pie and cornbread. How AWFUL.

Look at those eyes!!! James is such a cutie!
Last Christmas break, DH and I went to Daytona Beach. It was unbelievably cold and we were shocked when it started snowing! Not what I had in mind when I rented a condo on the beach. I remember the weatherman saying with the wind blowing off the ocean, the chill factor was 15 degrees. I had all my Kentucky winter gear with me and was still freezing with a hat, gloves, and a heavy, full-length coat when we took a walk on the beach. Still…there was an idiot out there swimming!
Don’t you hate when you put all kinds of “love labor” into something special for someone and they give you that old, “gee…thanks…” attitude?
