everybody to the limit!
You laugh about my awkward encounter with my nephew, but he stayed home from Pre-K this morning with the stomach flu. Seeing Auntie Leigh in her bra and TOM panties will do that to you.
I can’t bring myself to stand on the scale. Rob says he only gained 3 lbs. Only. ONLY. sheesh. That means I put on at least five. Right now is not a good time to climb up there anyway. What with TOM hanging around and all.
I’m currently at the mercy of the cooking of others. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to not have to cook, but I have little control over what is being served. I think this whole hurricane experience counts as a writeoff. I’m not giving up, I’m just rolling with the punches. We’re not expected to have power for at least another week. I don’t know how long we can stay in the graces of others. Family is family but still.
Today at work was so weird. It was like I’d completely forgotten what it was I used to do. The good news is, I got two weeks worth of paychecks. Sort of. One of them was less than half of what I usually get paid. Ouchers.
Tomorrow my brother in law has decided he is going to grill some ribs. God help us all.
today:
lunch: turkey sandwich on white bread with a LOT of veggies, a handful of lays potato chips, and a pickle wedge. (free lunch!)
dinner: 2 fried chicken strips, one serving of mashed potatos and 2 servings of corn
dessert: 1 scoop rocky road ice cream.
Yep. Rolling with the punches.
By the way, I just got up the nerve to stand on her scale.
…
214.6lbs
Not too terribly hopeless. Rather motivating, actually.

Aw, you are too cute. I’m sure he got sick for other reasons.
I wouldn’t be too upset about the scale. I would’ve probably gained 10 pounds if I went through what you did. *applauds*
Things will get back to normal soon. Hang in there! You’re doing great!
Maybe you could look into counseling for your nephew.
